    hi,

I have a bike jacket - cannot remember name - with kevlar pads/fabric arms etc.
But would like a leather jacket for the summer days.

Any recs on a jacket. don't need a Dainese (spellin?) :D

Possibly try on here and purchase on-line.

    Thx
    K

edit - i drive an 82 750 so plain black would be best

Richa 'Emple' jacket. Nice quality leather jacket.
Richa also do an AVS jacket where the underarms and sides zip out to just leave mesh, so its cooler in summer. And Richa are sold EVERYWHERE :)

I've been looking for a Leather Jacket and trousers myself for the past few months now and all there is is whats on ebay really. Cant find any shops except obvious motorbike stores which charge a fortune. You can get them on e-bay for like 120 for a Jacket and 130 for Trousers. Bit expensive really :(

I'd love to hear if someone knows where they can get a quality jacket (that doesn look like your grandad's or a hog drivers jacket) at a very good price. i.e. 100 for a jacket.

Should have gone to the bike show in the RDS back in March. Ebay is an option but need to be sure of the size. I bought a dainese leather jacket on ebay, thinking that the fit would be the same as my dainese textile, but it wasn't :(

well, in my opinion you get what you pay for.

I bought my set of RST leathers for ~€500 (jacket one year for 280 and trousers the next for 180) and they are still perfect. The set I got is the 2 piece race set. I use them every day in all weathers and I know of others who have had to replace their leathers after 2 years who have used theirs less.

Just got another set of the new RST srt07's for the better half in Kennedy's in Drogheda and they absolutely beautiful and were cheaper than my set.

Go to Turkey on your holidays. You will have the choice of the finest jackets for almost no money. I paid the equivalent of 50 Euro for jackets five to ten times as expensive in Ireland.

I'd be very wary of trusting my skin to something I bought in Turkey for 1/10 of the Irish price. I know we get ripped off, but I'd much rather spend good money on an expensive item from an Irish shop then get a cheap ,possibly counterfeit, item from Turkey where you have no comeback and no idea what the safety standards they meet. They can make fale safety marks!! Same as buying from Ebay, be very carefull from who you buy.

My jacket has stod up to spills, and cost the equivalent of only 50 Euro. I simply could not pay 500 Euros for some of those jackets. They are typically made in Turkey anyhow.

The Lookwell stuff has impressed me. I've had the same jacket, year round use for 3 years. It's been down the road a couple of times in that time too. The lining in one of the pockets went to pieces due to my keys but I just turned it inside out and cut the lining out so now I have a giant pocket between the liner and the leather outer. =D

    They're good solid stuff.
