    Hi guys,
I'm looking at booking an apartment with sleepinitaly.com however the email I received back regarding my enquiry asked my to email back my credit card details to book the apartment. This seems very insecure to me. Has anybody booked with this website or has anybody had similar experiences in booking apartments online.

    Any help please!

I would never email my credit card, it's not secure.
If you go ahead with them why not email the basics (billing address, etc) and call them with your cc number, expiry, ccv?

    Hi Peustace,

By all means, you should never send creditcard information in emails for reservations. Generally speaking, emails are not secure and can be read by other parties as they travel through the network and the internet.

Most sites requires will require you to enter creditcard information on secure (i.e. encrypted) pages. You can tell if a site encrypted because the URL will start with https:// rather than http and most browsers will show a little padlock symbol in the status bar.

As PaschalNee also said, you can email them your address etc., but call them with your creditcard information.
