Ohh dam. Paper 1 went fine and think I did well but then came paper 2, I did not know what went wrong but and hour in I had nothing more to write. I feel so bad about. Cant believe I chocked.

Hopefully it is a once off thing and can get Maths 1 and CSPE out of way for the weekend.

It was harder than I expected, Paper 1 was ok. How easy was that media studies question???

But paper 2 was quite hard (for me anyways) I forgot the name of the poem I studied but, I remembered another poem so I got lucky.

Tomorrow is a pain in the hole, with Irish and maths

    Lads, don't worry.

You always do much better in the exams that you think.

Do your study and you'll be fine. ;)

i thought paper 1 went unreal!!!! paper 2...... not so much!!!!!! by the time i got to studied poetry i was runing out of time!!!! and my studied poem didnt suit either question...!! the unseen fiction... oh god.. i completely messed dat up but sure we'l hope 4 d best!

Paper one was a doddle. What essays did ye do? I did the one about how to spend a Saturday...

Paper two was annoying. The poem was stupid. Why cant they put on good aul Seamus Heaney for Gods sake...!

The questions for studied poetry/drama were suitable for virtually any poem/drama

The functional writing was very easy (instructions)

I did the yummy bar advert! I didnt really know what to do with the Alien thing so.....

i did the essay that was started for u ('no one could've know by that evening....') i already had one made up b4 tho, so i had it done in 15 minutes!!!! i did the alien thing, thot it was interesting!!!!

How much did ye write? i think i wrote about 7-8 pages for each paper

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,472 ✭✭✭highlydebased

For paper one- Meh I used most the booklet

For paper two I filled the book and an extra 2 pages

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,626 ✭✭✭timmywex

11 pages on paper1 and 15 pages for paper 2, 12 pages in a booklet...

I made a mess of it like I did in the mocks so I hoping for a B.
The suncream one confused me. Half an hour per section and 30 marks is what caused me to think "They must want a crapload for this one". Wrote about half a page on each and was soon told by peers that they wrote 3-4 lines. :(

I didn't finish either paper, leaving the final section on Paper two unfinished (Answered first question properly, rushed the second and ran out of time a pargraph into the third, novel question). I believe I only used an extra page for Paper 2. I would have needed one for paper 1 seeing as I completely f'd myself over by only allowing two and a half pages for the prose composition but I had roughly 3 minutes to go.

Well you're gonna get full marks in the functional writing so!

I was tight on time in paper two- was frantically trying to get the seen fiction done...........had one minute left when I finished

I had a good 15/20 mins to spare but I've been told I tend to write the bare minimum so who knows...

english was hard enough this year i got a b in the mocks and was expecting a b or possibly an a in the junior but i think i got a c .. if im lucky the unseen poetry was **** - a boy who nearly won an art texaco competition!?! like wtf! it was **** you couldn't babble on about onomatopoia nd alliteration nd all dat i was turned off the paper from the first comprehension like normally good at comps but like it was about scientists ans stuff and was difficult to understand unlike the last at least 3 years comprehensions grr :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,472 ✭✭✭highlydebased

Yea the comprehensions were a load of rubbish.......

Like I say the poem was ridiculous

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,871 ✭✭✭Conor108

And what was with the letter?? I mean thats completely different to other years right? An novel extract and a personal letter are different!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 94 ✭✭Kehoejck

Overall in two papers wrote 26 Pages. Not pretty. Was really easy though generaly because I had a great teacher.

I thought that the whole paper 1 and 2 was ok. English is easy as long as you are logical and are able to understand the question. If you think your wandering off, don't just keep writing and hope for the best, stop and look at what you've written and keep it relevant.

    bit too late now though...

I did the Sun Cream thing. I had about 2 pages left in the booklet for both paper 1 and 2.

My friend was down at the beach after the English exam. The sunsafe picture was down there ... with instructions underneath.

    oh well.

Its really hard to tell how you did in english anyway

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 877 ✭✭✭Mario007

What kills me about english is that you don't know what you'll get. And if someone else corrected your paper he might have given you a different grade.

Paper one was cool, I did the alien media and the essay. It was all a huge rant about how screwed we are.

Paper two, i almost chocked right at the begging. So i did zen and i was cool since then, although the unseen poem was pretty hard. The fiction...that wasn't a fiction, that was a letter...

    What letter?

Edit: Oh Thank God, I just looked at the entire paper on the state Commision, I though that we had to write a letter!

    hahahaha! :D

That was odd with the letter there alright. If I see my teacher around I must ask him what he thought of it....
