canon lens

    any thoughts on this lens.... wanted a better than 350d kit lens and not spend to much as i am piss poor....

    EF 28-105mm F4.0-5.6 USM Lens

    does anyone have it etc? happy?

    just want a all round, will be getting the 50mm prime later in the year

    Hey there Ronan, I dont have this lens but I took a quick look on Canon digital photography forum, they have a lens archive in the EF EFS lens section, it seems to be v highly regarded and some of the shots shown are sooooo sharp dont know if this link will work but you can google it anyways.

    I don't think it's the same lens. Canon have 2 28-105 lenses, one is an f3.5-5.6 USM II and the other is an f4.0-5.6. The 3.5 is very sharp and is a good walkaround lens, but not really wide enough on a cropped sensor camera. The other one is a whole different ballgame, apparently worse than the kit lens.

    Have a look here for lens reviews. Both lenses are here and the latter scores only 5 out of 10, where the former is 8.6.
