Now, correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't OB sport stand for "Outside Broadcast" sport? So bearing in mind that RTÉ haven't hosted ANY sporting events on their grounds wouldn't all sports be outside broadcast sports? My point being, is this possibly the laziest title they've ever come up with?

How do you know for sure that is what the OB in the title means? Yes OB does mean Outside Broadcast but OB doesn't always have to mean that.

Well apart from the fact that the curly haired one has referred to it as that in his opening PTC's I'm not sure... And after all there are so many other things OB could stand for.

Does it make any difference? OB's refer to off site setups. However in a sport programme there might be footage coming from Studio, OB's, other contributors. OB's is an easy way of saying, lets get the footage from (enter address here) Why do you care?

So what if it's called OB sport. It says what it does on the tin.. sport outside the studio! I think most people get what they mean.

Oh excuse me for never watching it. You really must have a good life if this is all you have to complain about.

O'B is a sportswear brand name of a company. It sponsors the show, they name it after the show. Could have been

    Nike Sport
    adidas Sport
    O'Neil's Sport ad infinitum

    Check this out.. http://www.rte.ie/tv/obsport/about.html

It's obviously about getting sports on TV that usually wouldn't be on TV. RTÉ wouldn't name a programme after a brand - i'm sure that's not allowed.
