    Hi,

Does anyone have any experience with Sandals resorts for honeymoons?

Yes, They are hugely over priced and when we went which was in october the place was deserted. Depends on what you want, a lot of snobbs and wealthy people trying to intimidate you, Never again, and the staff wouldn,t stop pestering us.
Imagine the poshest restaurant in Ireland and imagine living in it for 2 weeks.

    Not my cup of tea.

We ended up walking down the beach every day to mingle with "average ppl".

There plenty other all inclusive options that aren't Sandals. Off the top of my head, I know there's a few hotels in Mauritius that do all in...

Yeah heard the same about Sandals resorts, we booked another all inclusive resort after deciding not to proceed with Sandals.

Seriously starting to consider looking at this without going through places like Sandals.

Could you give me names of hotels/resorts you looked at booking so that I could get an idea and look at pricing them?

    Thanks folks.

We were thinking of going to Sandals in Antigua or St. Lucia. We ended up booking Moon Palace Cancun.

My sister was in Cancun last year on her honeymoon and stayed in Riu Cancun. She had a great time. I might look into Moon Palace and see. We were hoping to go somewhere along the Carribean or maybe Jamaica.

    There are plenty around there...

My tip would be to use Expedia.com to find the right resort(s) in the right destination and then ring around the travel agents to see which deal with that resort and get the lowest price - American holidays, escape 2 etc.

When we were booking I found 3 companies that were very good for long haul, honeymooney type holidays. Escape 2, Two Higs, and classic resorts. We ended up booking with Escape as they gave us the best price out of the 3 for he exact same holiday.

I have been on to Escape and they seem really helpful. Fiona is going to get back to me with a list of resorts.
I have been on Expedia.com and the prices are great seeing as the dollar is so weak against the Euro. I might do some more looking before we decide on a place but Im gona try and book it while the dollar is still weak :)

I was going to book on expedia.com however It wouldn't take my irish address as payment with my credit card. I emailed them but they came back saying they would look into it and never followed up. I got very close to the price in american holidays after.

Check out www.caribbeandeals.co.uk they are much cheaper than going through an irish travel agent and offer the best in All inclusive.
The only thing is you will have to organise your own flights to the UK to connect to them.
But now a days thats not a big issue. God bless ryanair.

Make sure to check out www.tripadvisor.com, they have sandals resorts on them.

Hey folkface. How did you contact them? Do you know if they have an email address?

I couldn't recommend the Maldives strongly enough...it was magical. We stayed in an all inclusive resort called Kuramathi, it was fabulous, sunsets and seaviews like you wouldn't imagine. The food was mouth watering. We stayed there for five nights and went to Dubai for four. You have to break it up some how, because the flight there is a bit arduous.

If you go through Classic Resorts, you can bargain them off Thomas Cook (who happen to be agents for Classic Resorts  ) and bargain them down to a good price.

    Just give them a call.

    The Global Travel Group plc.
    Glendale House
    Glendale Business Park, Sandycroft
    North Wales
    United Kingdom
    CH5 2DL

    Tel - 0870 043 4650

Ask them what destinations your all inclusive holiday departs from in the UK.
Its probably either Stansted or Manchester.
Then you can check with Ryanair for the cheapest flight.

I know it wasn't my honeymoon but my fiance and I got engaged over in Antigua. We stayed at the Jolly Resort. Sandals is on the north side of the island but Jolly Resort is to the south west, with a bay overlooking Montserrat. I'd recommend it. The staff were lovely and the place was fun. We went in September and it was roasting but start of hurricane season - didn't get much except the odd rain showers and winds. We booked through a shop in cork but they are now gone. Thompsons i think were the main lot though. for the two of us to fly dublin to london to Antigua and stay two weeks in the resort it cost around €4,500. the resort was €2,000 but you can eat and drink as much as you like. Loads of people married there while we stayed there. here's the link :
    http://www.jollybeachresort.com/
It is a very laid back place. Maybe try just researching the carribbean - told neighbouring islands are fantastic too. hope this helped :D

    E4500 Bloody hell

Just goes to show you have to shop around.
We booked 2 weeks in Mexico (Cancun) all inclusive four star hotel for 590 GBP. (E 907). That includes flights from London to Mexico. We booked flights from shannon to London to connect for E60 each.
All you can eat and drink Honeymoon here we come. We'll just need to bring money for soulvenirs.

Myself and the other half went to a Sandals Resort in Varadero, Cuba last June. There were some renovations being done but we had a fabulous time.

It was ~€1300 each for 7 nights all inclusive including flights, transfers, taxes and 2 nights in a 4 star hotel in Havana.

We booked it through Atlas Travel in Dublin. Their website is www.gohop.ie

My mother and stepfather got married and honeymooned at Sandals, Negril, Jamaica, and loved it, it was all inclusive, the resort even provides a best man/maid of honor.

I wonder what they make, being witnesses at weddings all day haha
