Breast Query

I'm a 35 year old female and I think my breasts are beginning to sag. My bra size is 34B, relatively small. I'm 5 foot tall and 7 stone.

One of my boobs the nipple is down near the bottom of the curve and I think sagging.

I blamed my husband for this as its his foundling I believe has caused them to sag. He says its not sagging and the bigger one is more perky and it gives the other breast the apperance of sagging.

Is there any non surgical treatment out there to perk them up, any exercises? If I lost a few pounds would it help?

How you you know if your breasts are sagging?

 Are you being serious - blaming your sagging breasts on your husband fondling them. If anything, that will help keep them pert.
I'll go out on a limb and say that boobs are more likely to sag as a result of age. Most chest exercises in the gym should help a bit.

it's just age if they are at all sagging. each breast is different. a pair most likely won't be symmetrical and have nipples perfectly aligned etc. if you lose weight ur likely to lose ur boobs so could end up being more 'saggy'. doin't think anything non surgical is going to change the position of ur nipple

I'm at work so can't google it for you but you should be able to find more info on online medical sites about this methinks.

There was a non-surgical procedure for breast lifting featured on the tv programme how to look good naked - seemed to work wonders. I'm sure its on their website. And don't blame your husbands fondling! Unless he does some seriously weird type of fondling that cannot be it. You should do some chest exercises, make sure you wear the right bra. Also, sleeping on your front can cause your breasts to sag. If you are worried about them getting worse, you should wear a bra or a supportive top to bed. I've heard that helps. Oh, and moisturising too. Clarins supposedly have a good breast firming lotion but I don't know of anyone who's tried it, just read great reviews.

I do not believe that, if he's fondling them he's sure to be stretching the liagments that support them therefore sagging the breast.

I'd understand if they were big but their not only a 34B, I'm not so sure about those bust enhansing creams just a gimick if you ask me.

I did hear before that fonding makes them bigger I do not think so.

Are you serious in this belief? That's not fondling that's stretching. Do you have any idea how much repeated pressure you would have to put on the suspensory ligaments of the breasts to cause such a change? If it was that easy, most men would have mickeys that dragged off the floor due to the amount of tugging we do. He would need to be "fondling" and dragging on your breasts on a twice daily basis to have any effect. Trust me it's the weight of the breast itself and the ageing process that is doing anything. Fondling would increase blood supply to the breast which would likely make it more pert not less. Given you say one is more "saggy" than the other, is he fondling that one more?

Some are based on oestregens so I would say they might be even a bit dodgy.

I heard fiddlin with yourself makes you go blind and I've got 20/20 vision after many years of the practice. "Hearing" stuff, does not always make it so.

I would suggest light chest exercise to firm up the supporting muscles and wear a bra to bed. I know of one woman in her 40's who has worn a bra to bed most of her adult life and hers are still pointing northwards and she would be a C cup.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Q: I am recently married. I heard form some of my friends that sucking and fondling of the breast increases their size and also affects their shape. How far is this true?

A: This may be true for some women but it has never been documented in a scientific study.

you're only 7 stone you'd be mad to try to lose weight, besides you'll lose more breast size by doing that and they'll sag even more.

i'd say try a good cream or two and hit the gym to tone up your chest.

OP, do you wear a well fitting bra? If you dont, you should. Helps keep everything pert. :) And age has an effect, Id lay off your poor hubby on this one.

There are exercises you can do to strenghten your chest muscles, which can improve the appearance of your boobs. (Try the fitness forum for more advice)

And you can try the pencil test. Place a pencil underneath your boob, if your boob traps it and it doesnt fall, you have saggy ones. Otherwise youre ok. :)

I have no idea how a 35 year old woman could believe this. I guess nuns have really pert, perky breasts then, yes?

why, oh why did you put that visual in my head? now all i can think of is topless nuns in habits fondling eachother... eww

try the pencil test but at 38 you should expect this and not fear it so

The pencil test is a load of tripe. Even young, pert breasts droop slightly. The only ones that defy gravity are fakey-wakeys.

Ligaments are not designed to stretch. They'll only stretch if a rigorous stretching regime is adopted, and even then, only a very small amount - they'll usually be damaged [including pain] before they'll stretch.

Gravity and age are the important factors here not your husband hands.

Men suffer the dreaded ball drop with age, but there is no way in hell i am gong to blame a partner and ask her to stop fondling them.

The grip test with a pencil fior breasts i havent heard of, another part of the anatomy yes i have seen.

Complete lie. Not all breasts sag, mine certainly don't. They are EXTREMELY firm and most definitely real thank you.

The pencil test is a load of rot if you have a larger cup size. I could probably hide a whole bundle of pencils, let alone one, under my breasts which are bordering on an E/F and they're pert for their size.

Of course not all breasts sag, but by their very nature they're going to droop slightly - that does not make them saggy. It's just because they don't have any "apparatus" to hold them up.

Yeah I agree with tSubh Dearg. I'm an E-cup and very proud of my rack! But I could definitely stick a bunch of pencils under them. They're not saggy, but there's a normal level of slight drooping to them.

How on earth can they possibly be pert if you could hold a pencil (or a whole schoolbag for that matter) UNDERNEATH a breast? I don't understand:confused: Do you mean to say you could actually put a pencil underneath your breast and keep it there?

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 5,555 ✭✭✭tSubh Dearg

Did you not see my cup size? The bottom of my breasts rest against my ribcage. However, they are not drooping the perk upwards.

Imagine a balloon sticking through a hole in a piece of cardboard, inflate it just slightly and it will fall against the cardboard because it is drooping. Inflate it more and it will stop pressing against the cardboard because it will be pert. Inflate it yet more and it will press against the cardboard again because it is so big.

If I have a bra on, then I couldn't hold a pencil there because the fabric is seperating my breast from my ribcage.

Haha brilliant example, now I understand!! They must be massive tS D!:)

Miss Fluff and Co Talking about your breasts is most definitely off-topic in this forum. I would have thought that you would have had more sense. Please refrain in future.

To the OP. You are not young anymore. You have had breasts for 25-odd years at this stage. By now, they are definitely feeling the wear and tear of everyday life. You will just have to do your best to mind them from now on.

I would suggest, if you havent done so recently, to go and get a breast check from your doctor, as a recent visit to mine informed me to look out for nipples changing direction or that any changes in nipple direction could possibly indicate a problem. (which is something I, personally never knew, always concentrating on lumps moreso)
Please go to your doctor and ask their opinion.

Neh. You can get a life without the implants. You want to go up but not get bigger.

    Do pushups.

I agree, surgery is a no no - personally, falsies do nothing for me. Nothing like the natural bounce.

Yep. Think sagging natural breasts are bad? Sagging fake boobs are truly disgusting - they're all crinkly like a paper bag.

    Best advice on this thread.

Go for a bra fitting in a decent lingerie store, get properly fitting bras rather than the usual dunnes/penneys ones that don't quite fit properly. Get at least one good sports bra and do press-ups. They'll give you more muscle tissue 'behind' your breasts which will indeed make them appear perkier.

TBH though your body aging is something you're going to have to come to terms with at some stage. Exercise and support can help slow it's effects but in the end, age always catches up.

I agree with other people here that wearing a decent fitting bra helps. I recently had to do without wearing my bra for a few weeks due to surgery and noticed that my chest was drooping slightly.

Oops. I meant to say LIFT not LIFE.

Still pushups are your best bet. And good bras defininitely. And moisturise to keep the skin resilient. Wear a sleeping bra also.

'Ok, there may be some truth is what someone said earlier about breast fondling, my perkier breast is my hubbie's favourite it gets most of the attention compared to the other so I've asked him to concentrate on the other one!

I always wear good expensive support bras and rarely go braless, I had to rescently when the washing machine was broken all had no clean bras. I did notice my breasts felt heavier going braless and it also took a while to readjust to wearing a bra again.

I think the pencil test is nonsense, big breasts will naturally have more mass and therefore may hold a pencil in place it does not mean their sagging, sagging is shown my the placement of the nipples, my nipple is displaced towards the bottom of the breast, indicating sagging.

I may consider surgery just to give them a lift noy to increase their size and its not being vain or to show them off on the beach which I do not do anyway, its just to feel young and look good.

Is there any good creams to firm the skin?'

Avon Firm and Sculpt scored high on a recent test of bust firming lotions on How To Look Good Naked. It was second to Pout Bust Enhacing Cream and a lot cheaper.

I'm only 20 but I'm very conscious of my dd boobs sagging. The nipples aren't pointing downwards just yet but the mass of the breast seems to be lower down. One is also significantly larger than the other (I know it's natural and common for there to be variation in size between the two but this difference is obvious in my case). I'm seriously considering plastic surgery. My twin sister has slightly smaller and more evenly "distributed" breasts. She did a lot of gymnastics growing up and attributes her good toning to the workouts she did while she was developing. I've started doing Bikham yoga - maybe it'll help and maybe it could work for you?

If your breasts are an E/F of course you could hold a pencil (or several) under them!!! With boobs that weight, gravity plays a part! They can still be pert as in nipples pointing outwards. Only boob job Es & Fs stick straight out in their entirety!!
