marshall or vox

    can anyone give me any advice on these two amps(marshall 100dfx and vox ad100vt)i will only be playing them at home,and i am not sure which one wll suit me more,i will be playing a strat through it(rock and blues)thanks.

    Hey, personally, i would go with the vox. but dont you think 100 is perhaps a bit big for home use? i would recommend taking your guitar and heading in to try them out. It's more to personal taste than anything.

    both are a pretty poor choice IMO,sorry!
    you don't need a 100watt amp for your gaff ;)
    get a small valve amp,wouldn't cost much more than either the marshall or vox
    (70's silverface fender champs can be had for app 350 on ebay for example)

    get a decent overdrive pedal like a tubescreamer and your good to go!

    The Vox modellers are much better amps than the Marshall MG series. That's the answer to your first question.

    100watt is more than you need to play at home. Vox make 30 and 60 watters, i'd be looking at those instead.

    Don't consider a valve amp without understanding volume & servicing issues, and considering exactly what you want in an amp (versatility etc.)
