    hi all

Sorry, i'm thick about fx loops!!

i have an ancient boss me-6 that has no send and return,
its modulation and delay/verb effects are great but the o/d's are rubbish
so i want to pop it in the fx loop and use a couple of stomps for o/ds

how do I patch this into my amp,
the me-6 has one in and two outs (L-mono and R)
the amp has fx send and return jacks

    many thank

    rgds

    Guitar - amp input - fx send - ME-6 in - ME-6 out (L Mono) - FX return

    Is there an effects switch?

    hi feylya

there is no switch as such,
there is a jack for FX and reverb mute footswitch
I dont have the footswitches (working on it!)

unless the mute is active as a default unless you have the footswitch in?

Thats probably your problem, the fx loop needs a footswitch to be engaged.

You could rig up a temporary fix with a cable.

If i read you right and one footswitch controls both reverb and fx loop, you'll need a stereo cable to control both.

Either the tip or the ring need to be referenced to ground to 'engage' either function. It's a toss up which will control which, so just plug a cable in and manually ground either the tip or ring and see what happens (manually ground it by touching it off something big and metal. Alternatively ground it to the sleeve).

If you only have a mono cable handy (which is likely), you might be lucky or unlucky whether the tip controls reverb or fx loop. There is no ring on a mono cable, just a tip and sleeve, so you'll only be able to control one of the functions.

Once you figure out which does what, you could rig up something temporary to switch on and off, i'll leave that to your imagination.
