adding programs to startup?

There's a strange problem happening with my computer in the last day or two. several of the entries in the startup list have been taken off. These include AVG and Zone Alarm which I need to run on startup. I know how to delete entries from the startup list but not how to add them. How would I do this?
    Thanks in advance. :)

Make a shortcut to the program you want to startup.
Click on Start, Right click on All Programs
    Go into the "Startup" folder
    Paste the shortcut there.

    That's the easy way.

You'd want to run a Spyware check if random programs go missing from startup (espically Antivirus and Firewalls!), so use Ad-Aware to do this.
