I think the new Grand Theft Auto should be great as usual...Apart from the the new PES apart from that i'm kinda holding out for Final Fantasy XIII even though it will probably be another year at least....Sure there should be a few other good games in between.
Been a bit dissapointed so far...
Motorstorm,Oblivion,Virtua Tennis,NBA Homecourt and Fight Night have been the stand outs so far for me.

Uncharted and Assassin's Creed are the main ones at the moment, they're the ones that what I've seen has wowed me more than any others.

Little Big Planet, Ratchet & Clank, Heavenly Sword and Lair are all probable buys too, of course it all depends on reviews, especially with Lair which has had mixed reactions because of the motion controls.

And of course long term there's MGS4, FFXIII, Team Ico's next game, GT5 and Eight Days, if it turns out to be anything remotely like the tech demos that came from the game at E3 a couple of years ago.

Oh and GTA of course. Though I'm not sure what it will have to offer having been so completely surpassed by the likes of Crackdown and Saint's Row. I guess it'll be worth getting for the humour and dialogue if nothing else, something those other games failed to match.

And there's the usual yearly games like Burnout and Pro Evo. And maybe FIFA, Eurogamer have been really glowing about the massive steps forward they've taken for the next gen release coming this year so we'll see.

Oh and Warhawk, been hearing great things about that from people who've been in the beta, especially Kotaku who seem fond of mentioning in every Halo 3 post how much better the Warhawk beta is.

Not to mention Folklore, the game didn't really interest me but now I feel obliged to buy it for the comedy Irish accents. Well, depending how it turns out, it's been getting fairly positive impressions from what I've read though.

Right I'm stopping before I think of more.

PES7 cos it'll be a game I'll get hooked on.

There's also Assassins Creed, looks like fun.

I can't wait for the following:

    Rainbow Six: Vegas
    GRAW 2
    Warhawk
    GT5
    Little Big Planet
    The Darkness
    Burnout Paradise
    GTA 4
    Ninja Gaiden
    Army of Two
    Folklore
    MGS 4

Hopefully by the end of the year most of them will be released and I will have. I also can not wait for HOME to be released it is going to be kick ass, and knock the crap outta xbox live.

Excuse my ignorance but what exactly is home??
And what function does X-Box Live have..if you can paly over the net you can play over the net,no??

Home looks good but I dunno if it can beat Xbox live. But we'll see I suppose.
Oh yeah forgot about Ninja Gaiden! End of this month, can't wait. Gonna have to become a god-like gamer to complete it again!

probably late in the year (october/november would be my guess)

How good is X-Box life..what are the main features...
Would be pretty hard to beat a fully (well sort of!!!) customisable world..
Looks deadly to me but they always have to take these things with a bit of salt!

Don't have a ps3, but what would probably make me buy one would be some great new IP, so I suppose I'm looking forward to seeing how the likes of folklore and LittleBig Planet turn out.

Anything good at the moment. PES7 most definately. Assasins creed and haze, saw it on gamer TV on Bravo today and it looked nice.

i would assume the darkness has online since it's on 360, and just to release a game on that as a pre-requisite you must have an online mode.

R6V is great online, from my xbl experience... and ninja gaiden sigma looks stunning :D

It is really great :D Should definitely be on everyone's lists.

Cool video here - fun with proximity mines and (attempted!) mid-air knife fights :)

I can't wait for Rock Band and Guitar Hero III. The guitar hero games are waaay too addictive.

Really looking forward to Haze too, it being from the guys who did Timesplitters, which is possibly my favourite series of games ever. Unfortunately it doesn't look like there'll be any rocket launcher wielding monkeys in Haze tho.

And then of course the usual list with GTA, MGS etc. etc.

Xbox Live is not some 2nd Life wannabe. Its integrated into every game, so your friends list for one game is your friends list for every game. None of this crap with adding your friends again for every game.
It is the second biggest supplier of movies online in the world (after iTunes), the biggest for HD content, but unfortunately these are still basically US only at the moment. It will have IPTV in the US shortly and a deal has been signed in the UK for it also.
All in all, its a very good service, and if Sony can come up with something better I'll take my hats off to them.

Haze looks good alright, both Timesplitters were good, one much funnier than the other though, I can't remember which one was which :D

After the new trailer add MGS4 to my list.

Have to say Haze is starting to interest me.

I'm not a fan of first person shooters and didn't see what the fuss was about when I first heard about it, just yet another futuristic shooter.

But now I've read some more details and they seem to be doing some interesting things for the narrative.

They seem to be exploring propoganda in war, with the player working as part of government forces deployed to quash a rebellion from freedom fighters/terrorists, with it never being too clear if you're really on the right side, because in reality everyone thinks they're the good guys.

Add in some cool ideas like your standard issue combat visor which completely filters out reality and makes it seem like you're fighting in a serene environment with videogame style disappearing bodies, but it can get broken and suddenly you're surrounded by dead bodies and blood and gore and people screaming as the horrors of war become visible. Sounds like a cool idea.

Also there's the nectar, which is basically a drug you can give your guy to beef him up, but he can grow dependent on it and over use can have severe consequences like no longer being able to tell friend from foe when the drugs take over. There's supposedly points in the game where members of your team overdose and turn on you and you're forced to kill them. Between this and how the visor works it's kind of showing how your commanders are only interested in turning you into an unquestioning killing machine. I wouldn't be surprised if you turn on them later in the game but time will tell.

Apparently multiplayer modes also fit in with the story and have their own narratives rather than being the usual array of deathmatches.

If it comes together it sounds like a really interesting experiment, I'll be keeping an eye on it.

Also the AI is meant to be shaping up quite nicely with enemies shooting your nectar tank causing you to overdose.
