    Hmmmm nice.
which is faster the Z 300 or the 308 (or the cooper)
A friend has one of those Z 300's that he imported from Japan. Its a twin turbo model and its been tweaked in various ways, i.e. no suspension, dump valves all over the place and some air intake gubbins and boy is it fast. I'm not at all used to fast cars so maybe it's just the shock factor. I bottled out at about 170 kms but it was still pulling like a train.

    Cheers, :)

The 300zx is a good bit quicker, 350 bhp and that turbo kick 'V' 255 Bhp, the 308 is real quick, but more of an experience to drive, the sound of the carbs suckin in the air with the window down is amazing.

The 308 is one of my favourite car designs of all time.

There used to be one parked around the Fitzwilliam Square area quite a lot.

Kersh, do you know anything about the history of your 308? I can't imagine there are too many Irish registered originals in the country.

:D actually given the right circuit it probably is!
I learnt to drive in my mothers ordinary 850 (237 HYI) When she was away or asleep. I was only about 16 and while I wouldn't do it now, I used to rally it around Sutton in Dublin. With a combination of no skill and no fear I thought I could give Paddy Hophirk a run for his money!
Ashamed to admit this... but I even took the wheels off and bolted them on the wrong way around, you know with the dish shape facing out, so they would look wider. I'm sure it was great for the bearings.:)
Of course I did eventually crash it, into a white alfasud sprint, which was driven by my soon to be ex grlfriends big brother. The Alfa got a fairly small dent but the minis front wing collapsed due to all the filler holding it together.

It's unlikely that it's an Irish original as it's on ZV plates.

(I know that an Irish reg may be changed to a ZV after 30 years but I can't imagine why anyone would want to do that).

I have its entire history alright, inc 3 cherished UK plate changeover documents.

Even has receipt for fuses from 1979!! and every Mot cert and checklist.

I rang QV London (guys who did all servicing on it over past 12 years) rigt before I bought it, and they advised it was a cracking car, which it is.

I went down to London in Beekays Cooper ( that was a blast), which we picked up in Derby , to view the 308, spent about 2 hours checking the service records and history and the car, then drove home, went back 3 weeks later to pik it up.

Nice car mate, looks super condition !

The 308's were far nicer than the models that replaced them, 328/348 IMO. The shape is more pure !

Lovely car, but you'll have to grow the 'tash now.
