Guitar pedal from USA...what voltage??

I bought a Line6 POD XT Live pedal in from the USA.
The power supply that came with it is a 2 pin American for 120v 60Hz.
The output is 9V AC 2000mA.

If i buy a simple plug adapter....will it work ok or will the socket fry the new pedal.

It is designed for 120V, but our Irish voltage is 220V.....that is 100V more than is should get.

Or can i buy a 220V AC 60Hz power supply around.

Go into Maplins or Peats and pick up a step down adapter. about 20 quid. Do the trick perfect.

I'd just pick up a European POD adaptor, or equivalent.

If you can't find the official Line6 adaptor, any multi-adaptor that's rated to 2000ma will do the job. Will be cheaper than a stepdown and less hassle.

Cannot find one of those above......scanned the net and ebay.....not sure if it even exists.....i am not electricly minded.

What would happen if i just plugged it into the wall socket....would i blow anything???

If you plug the American adapter into the wall, you will blow the adapter, possibly the POD and could damage/blow fuses in your house. Go into a good music shop (not Cumiskeys) and ask for a Line 6 Pod power supply.
