    Hey
Can anyone help me with Broadband from ASTRA satellite at 23.5.
I'm sorry if this seems lazy of me but i have searched and can't come up with anything concrete. I had cross country broadband installed a few days ago at some cost and i need to change, i won't go into to much detail but lets just say im not happy. It came with an 80cm dish and a F-10 satellitemodem and i hope i can use this hardware with a different reseller.

SkyDSL provide internet via satellite. I can't be bothered to read all the blurb so I don't know which satellite they use. See

there was a full page article in the Indo last week with a less than glowing recount of one writers experience trying to get satellite broadband through Eircom from Mediasat. Synopsis - Months of inaction follwed by further inaction Mediasat eventually surveyed & said their low lying sat couldnt be seen through the trees for this West Waterford punter. They then contacted Digiweb and were up and running in very little time.
So which ever one you are having trouble with, try the other.
    Good luck

SkyDSL is only a download accelerator. You need dialup too.

The 23.5 footprint is not ideal outside Leinster as the current 2-way service is for Continental Europe.

The 2-way is "always on" and while not ideal for VOIP, it will work a bit like two way radio :) Realtime action gaming not possible, and hosting probably is better subcontracted to a datacentre. No phone line needed.

Anyone using two-way on 23.5E PM me.
