This is the fourth hand of our first match, so limited info. My previous BB, I've QQ, I flat call exact same preflop raise, then check fold an A high flop.

Paddy Power Poker PPP The Spire 10/20, hand converted by the iPoker Converter at Talking-Poker

    Button Niall (1550)
    BB Hero (1450)

Preflop: Hero is in the BB with Qclub.gif Kdiamond.gif
Niall raises to 60, Hero calls 50.

    Flop (140) Qdiamond.gif 9heart.gif 3club.gif
Hero bets 100, Niall raises to 325, Hero calls 225.

    Turn (790) 7club.gif
    Hero checks, Niall checks.

    River (790) 5heart.gif
Hero checks, Niall bets 520, Hero calls 520

My flop line shows some strenght, but would my weak line on turn and river ever induce a thin value bet/bluff from a good player?

In other words is this a good call on the end?

I 3bet preflop with KQ. As played i like it. Looks like you got ocallagh to bluff the river so it looks like a god call to me

I sometimes like to play a fairly passive game in the first two levels HU, I find there's better value in catching bluffs from aggro opponents, than taking small pots. It also gets you respect when you do change gears.

    Yep, I like this line.

Against Ocallagh I could be wrong but I hate the way this hand is played. The flop lead is bad IMO and as played I might actually fold to the flop raise, if I not I defintely fold the river. I think you should have check called with the QQ in the previous hand.

I agree, against an average/poor player I think my line is good, but I don't think an above average player is ever betting that river with a hand I beat.
He had AA, and his turn check was good, I checked the river expecting a bluff and insta-called. We were both trapping. If he bets the turn, I fold.

Btw, why do you not lead the flop?

I would just about never fold to the flop raise here.
I think your line is standard enough, and I call expecting to be ahead at least 35% of the time.

I agree with this, he can be bluffing or value betting worse.

Oh and this is definitely right. I was debating whether or not to release this and jeopardise my chances in the HU competition, but for the good of the forum I'm going to let it out. You'll thank me for it.

I think you should fold the river. I dont think he can bluff you there very often, as he expects you to call.
