Id go with the Kjw one, Full metal goodness :D

Ill vouch for JKW, they make beautiful pistols...actually I think Spitfire has the KJW's P226...ask him about it!

    Thanks and Harekin!

I kinda had already made up my mind about the KJW but I said I'd make it hard for ye :D;) The P226 is fantastic looking and the full metal body is mean. The total cost is about e100 before the Customs people get their hands on it and charge me VAT so I'd say about e130.

What is the delivery time from ehobby like. I know it says about 5-7 days but what about customs?

If Spitfire is around can you give me a quick review (supposed to be studying...)

Well sometimes pure pistol orders get through without customs. It depends on the day really, I had one released from customs the day it was arrived and another waited in customs for 3 months...luck of the draw. If its a small package then sometimes they get through with no hassle or charge.

    Okay thanks,

I don't mind certain charges but I think that the 21% VAT plus Handling Charges are excessive, especially since tax is paid on the other side.
Does being labelled with "Gift" allow the package to go through without charges?

I HAD that pistol. its nice but i found it to be too heavy. its heavier then the real one and that causes problems when skirmishing unless you have a solid holster specific to that gun. its powerfull, reliable, and sound great but for me it was too heavy and the shape didnt suit the look i wanted.

id have the kjw over the tm alright but not in that pistol

KJW's full metal by far. I own one myself. You won't be dissapointed ;)

It's good to get a review from a person who has the item.
I would be interested in a second hand GBB but airsoftireland.com and other sites don't have what I'm looking for (I also like the Kjw M9)

I have a good holster so my KJW M92f is no problem to carry because its held nice and tight so with a good holster the full metal shouldnt be a problem.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,323 ✭✭✭Spitfire666

226 is heavier then the m9 but with a tight fitting holster it wont be bad. if its a 226 your after id get the kjw. its a very good one.

    The P226 is fantastic looking.
Does anyone have one for sale or thinking of selling?
(If this should go on the sale forum then I'll delete the post)

My KJW M9 is solid so the 226 should be the same.

Supposed to be studying...me too: Junior Cert:eek:

I have the TM version and I love it.....but if I knew then what I know now I would have gone with the KJW one, if only so that I could use propane in it.

I've read on various forums that the TM will take propane without any problems, but I'm not willing to risk it, because the slide is ABS.

Anyway...yeah....go for the KJW if you can.

I have the KJW P226 and I'm very happy with it, great power and accuracy. The spring in the mag sticks the odd time, thats about it.

I was also looking at the P229 at a later stage to go with it.

The TM 226 can be upgraded later with a metal slide and body and external barrel, to anyone who has one

    Thanks kdouglas
Only one more year to go....
Then one year of in-house training then I'm free to buy loads of TM/CA airsoft items!!!

It's great to see an overwhelmingly good response to an airsoft brand like Kjw, so I'll feel feel even better when it arrives.

Only gifts worth less than €45 are exempt from charges. ( I think its €45 anyway...)

    Thought it was €80:confused:
    Not sure though!

Does anyone know when I request that ehobby not put on the orange tip? Is it after I win the item or do I put it in with the paypal payment instructions?

You can do it both times, but to be honest, I doubt you'll need to.
None of the gunsI bought from eHobby had an orange tip.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,656 ✭✭✭deepimpact

Great, I don't want to be the only one with an orange tip so just to be cautious I'll put it down anyway.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,401 ✭✭✭Shiva

Yeah, better safe than sorry. I just never did it 'cos I never thought of it :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,414 ✭✭✭kdouglas

i never said anything and my m9 came with an orange tip, doesnt bother me though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,656 ✭✭✭deepimpact

    Okay,
I have the money and I'm ready to order :) so all I have to do is order. I have an ebay account but what do i do after I buy it now (Sorry, first order on ebay...). I've read that they send an email with the invoice but can I pay with a paypal account that has a different username?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I don't want to screw up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,877 ✭✭✭liamo333

If it is with ehobby or someone else who accepts paypal you first of all need a paypal account. Then when you know what to buy you press 'buy it now' or 'place a bid'. When you win/buy the item you press pay now. It is fairly easy from there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,656 ✭✭✭deepimpact

I have a paypal account but I have never used my ebay account to buy anything. Do I use my ebay account to bid and use my paypal account (with a different username) to pay, or could that be seen as suspicious?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,174 ✭✭✭✭Captain Chaos

You can link your paypal and ebay account together, I got a prompt from the site when I went to buy an item that required paypal.

OK, how do I do that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,174 ✭✭✭✭Captain Chaos

For me, when I set up my paypal account, I did it by using the links on Ebay. When I had finished Ebay had recognised that I had set up my paypal and I got a pop up prompt (not ad pop up style) to link my account together.

I don't know where to go in the options to manually do it.

Sorted it from the ebay home page. I was too lazy to do it but I have it sorted now...Buying time!!!
