Word you're looking for is copyright ;)

If it's music on the disk, Windows Media Player should automatically ask you if you want to add copy protection once you try to rip them - i presume it'll do the same when burning but can't be sure.

copyright ha i knew what i wrote looked odd!!

see i dont think windows media player would do it, im using nero to burn the dvd (video file) and nero has to create the video file before it burns to disc,
nero doesnt offer a copyright protection anyways

Why do you want to copyright it anyway? Copyright is virutally redundant on discs these days, there are so many easy ways to break it...

Are you going to be distributing it? Is there a chance someone will copy it?

i do film football matchs etc, and it could be a case were 1 lad in the group would buy the copy with the intent of copying for the rest, and i loose out in the end

As many, many software companies will attest, there is little to nothing you can reasonably do to prevent this. If you are burning the discs so that they can be played in a standard DVD player, then there is pretty much nothing you can do.
