Apologies if i missed this in the FAQ.

Moving house from a rented accomadation due to issues with the landlord.

    Moving to another rented place.

Problem is i had a sky installed in the 1st place and its on a year contract...

Now i dont want to run out on my subscription to sky.

So My options as i see them are.

1)Call Sky and ask them to do it and pay whatever fee it is.

(Anyone any idea how much its costs? Will it be a full installation cost again? We can move the box and dish if need be)

2)Call one of the local installer guys and see what they will do.

3)Buy a Free to air dish and install it in the new place
(Can one be hooked up to a sky box?)

    Thoughts? Suggestions?

Basically im just wondering how much im looking at paying and is there ways around it

I've moved a couple of times in the last few years and have always called sky directly to use their 'moving home' package. It works out a bit cheaper than getting a local installer to do it, although after 15/20 mins on the phone to sky (and considering the call rate) it may work out better to get the local's to do it.

I'm going to be moving again in a month or so and seeing as I'm probably going to buy my own box and LNB, I might get a local to provide and install a dish.

I think sky's moving home deal works out around €35 or something.

Got Sky to do mine, installed as new on Monday last, €62. New dish and lnb supplied.
