Hows your Empathy?

Pighead has to admit that he wouldn't be the ideal candidate to look after you if you were stuck in the house dying with the flu or some other crippling ailment. My natural cynical streak makes me eye up the sufferer with a mixture of disbelief and disgust.

"What do you mean you want me to make you chicken soup? Get the fcuk out of here mam, its your legs that are broken, not your bloody hands, now wheel yourself into that kitchen and get out of my sight"

Pigheads lack of sympathy probably stems from the fact that he was a little fcuker when it came to exaggerating minor ailments. First sign of a watery snot and Pighead was on the sofa with his duvet before you could say "Mam, my head throat and heart hurt, save me please"

So are you a modern day Florence Nightengale type full of hot vegetable soup and kind encouraging words or are you the "Get the fcuk off that sofa you workshy cnut, broken ribs my arse" type?

I don't do empathy and i'm reminded of the dictionary distance between sympathy and syphillis.

    Well, I'd first assess the damage (Are they genuinely bolloxed or exaggarating like you said Pighead.) then I pending on what they'll do for me I'll do it;

Patient: "Make us a cup of tea"
Me: "Fùck off! Do it yourself, you're not that bad!"
    Patient: "Please, I can't I'm dying"
Me: "Hrmph!! Fine, only if you <add demand here>"
Patient: "Don't be a prick, please"
Me: "Making the cup of tea yourself won't make you sicker"
    *Silence for 2 minutes*
    Patient: "Fine, I'll do <Demand you made>"
    Me: "Good boy"

The occurance of me helping someone when their sick or injured has been rare but when it did happen it always wound up like the above dialogue. Fukkit, health care aint' free why should I offer free service?

smashey what if your girlfriend was ill on a Saturday night and you had a night out with the lads organised. Would you stay in with her and feed her hot homemade soup from the spoon (Doing the aeroplane thingy to cheer her up) or would you tell her to get a grip and get over herself.

And smashey answer honestly, not macholy. Machoness doesn't exist in After Hours, we're all nerds. Answer with your heart, not your cock. Cheers.

Did you make them walk around on all fours and bark like a dog.

And to Pighead I've never heard of this empathy thing you speak of

That's probably the best thing to do. Get rid of the problem altogether and quit her moaning.

Yes, I'm a modern day Florence Nightengale. I feel other people's pain and woes accutely.

    I'd be more of a "disappear-upstairs-and-get-someone-else-to-do-it" type.

I'm more the " I'll do it but what will you do for me in return" type girl! :)
    I collect my favours everytime

How selfish! So you're saying that if you came across (easy lads) Pighead lying on a road dying, after being savagely attacked by an escaped Tiger from Dublin Zoo you'd whisper in his ear "

Hey ya Pighead, I have a first aid box in my handbag and i'm willing to try and patch you up but first you must promise to pleasure me when you're fully recovered"

Pighead hopes that you don't take offence to this but to be quite honest thats a rotten attitude. Oh and for the record, you can fcuk off and take your first aid box with you.

I'll aid your box if you aid mine first! Wha wha wha!

Can a mod please delete this filthy retort before any kiddies or hot chicks see it please. Pighead tried to start a thread on empathy and caring only for coolsmileygirl to drag it down into her nymphomaniac cock obsessed gutter.

Oh and for the record csg, the cock is fully recovered.

Only when you're around sewer mouth. When a lady of virtue and graceful good looks come along, Pigheads maggot magically transforms into the whopper that many ladies have known and loved.

Ladyj, you were right what you said about csg. Common as muck. That girl ain't got no class.

Lol. Lies! I reckon it's your intention to create some kind of online cat fight between CSG and I. Well I think it's sick!

Basically, you have to treat sick friends like livestock. If they're too ill to be economically productive, it's 2 shots behind the ear and a backyard incineration :P

my empathy increases with hotness of patient. ya know, the old "damsel in distress" syndrome.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 37,214 ✭✭✭✭Dudess

Well I'm much too empathetic for my own good - even to the point of well-I'm-still-fairly-pissed-after-last-night-so-I-can't-drive-you-to-the-doctor-but-I'll-give-you-money-for-a-taxi-and-sit-in-the-taxi-with-you-if-you-like-even-though-it'll-make-me-really-late-for-work-and-I'm-on-my-final-warning.

    Now THERE'S empathy for ya!

I'm not good on the "awh poor you" sort of thing.

But I'm very good at looking after sick people properly and practically.
When people close to me have actually got really sick I've done the "cleaning" thing and I don't really think twice about it, just has to be done.

In short, no beside manner whatsoever, more "misery" perhaps than Florence nightingale though.
