Did anyone see his show on network 2 last night? I thought it was good. He was trying to follow in the footsteps of Stephen Roche and cycle to his gig in Galway from Dublin.

Missed it. Saw him live a while back, so wanted to catch it.

It's repeated at 12:05am on Saturday night, if anyone wants to see it

Don't waste your energy, it was 'hit and miss', with the majority being 'miss'.

I thought the show was ok, but the bits of his comedy act were horrific. But I'll probably tune in next week where he tries to release a single. No doubt, I'll be disappointed again, but Tuesdays are always bad tv days.

It was ok. At the beginning I thought the voiceover wasn't bad as it was that real serious, detached sort of thing you get on proper documentaries, but it got a bit boring as the programme wore on. I'll probably watch next week to see if it hets any better.

I thought it was fairly entertaining for a Tuesday night offering on RTÉ2.

I like him but I was very disappointed with this

i thought it was quite funny actually... He was a small bit deluded about cycling to galway though, he was treating it like cycling to the shops or something (i know that was the point but anyway)

It'll do wonders for his career though, at least people might recognise him from something other than that science show Scope...

Did anyone watch the second episode of this? He decided to release a single with the aim of getting exactly to number 27 in the charts. It was actually really funny and shows that the Irish charts are a joke. In the end he got to number 30, beating Christina Aguilera and Westlife :D

And if anyone knows where you can get the single or the video, then please tell me, it was hilarious,

Didnt see the show, but the song (Orange) is up on youtube, the video is class!

It was hilarious when he was making the video. He realised that what all hit singles have in common is that the singer wears a white shirt or coat in it. But the only coat he could find was a lab coat :D

I'm wondering if there's more shows coming or was this the last one?

i watched it and ended up turning it off. I know nothing about comedy, but my tuppence worth is that if you're going to do musical comedy, you either do a catchy little tune with ridiculously silly lyrics (my little pony, any bill bailey tune) or you do something which has very funny lyrics and the tune can take second place. This seemed to fall between the two, not v. funny lyrics & woeful tune.
anyway i'm nit-picking, re. you tube video - the bit at the start when you first see him in the lab coat was v. funny. Last lab coat in a video i can remember was Madness' House of Fun.

Do the Irish charts now include downloads ? Coz if it's only cd sales, then i'm sure a few hundred sales would get you a top 30 spot.

Since the last episode aired last night I just though I'd dredge up this thread again.
All in all I was pretty disappointed with it. There's no doubt the man can be hilarious. I've seen some of his stand-up material and it's great but the same couldn't be said of this show.
I didn't like the forced hap-hazardness (if that's a word, don't think it is) of the whole thing. And Keelin Shanley's (was it her?) voiceover really got annoying.
The fact is, his stuff on Scope was far funnier. Which shouldn't be right.
