Apple Care registration

I got my macbook from the US, now I am getting Apple Care for it, as well from the US. I never registered my laptop, but now I will have to when registering Apple Care. Will US-purchased Apple Care be accepted when my Apple ID is Ireland-localized? Anyone has experience with that?..
