dedicated guitarist who's into metal and such please

I don't really know why I'm posting as I believe it to be redundant but it's worth a try. How's it going anyway. I'm in a band, which plays primarily metal (death, melodic death, groove, post-metal) based music, with a keen sense of melody and not settling for anything less than that which is completely satisfactory. Four piece based in Dublin. I (Kev, 20) do vocals, with Dave (19) on lead and rhythm guitars, Stewie (20) on bass and Dave (17)eile on drums. We practice twice a week, but are on a slight break till the drummer completes his leaving certificate. As such, we may as well try a potential second guitarist out. In the middle of July roughly we plan on recording. Dave will be doing all of the guitar tracks unless a guitarist makes him/herself evident. Gigs are in the pipeline. We work hard, and party just as much. Songs that are being written at the moment remind people of Carcass, Arsis, lamb of god, isis, neurosis etc. We're trying something different.

Thanks for replies lads. Johnny you have some talent. I was loving the material there. I'll send it on to the guitarist though and get back to you, basically because being the vocalist I simply wouldn't have the ear for these things. I'll say it again though, sounds promising, and the likes of that would be put to use. Would you be into more aggressive stuff?

The demoes, right now, no. When I get to the guitarist's place, we'll record some stuff, and pass it on. They'll be very rough, no drum tracks. If you want me to record some vocals let me know. Like I said the proper one will be done in due course. Likely, we'll do that ourselves and then name the second guitarist.

Lately, the sounds have been like at the gates, the haunted, isis. Not really limited. Vocally, I go for opeth-ian grunts, lamb of god and isis barks,arsis shrieks, more opeth type clean singing (needs work! ha) etc etc.

Aye they're something else. Comparing yourself to them only makes you try harder! Out in soundlease generally, open to wherever in Dublin though.

im realy into aggressive music aswell, just sounds rubbish when i try record it! opeth are one of my favourite bands. they re my main acoustic/vocal influences(I do a spot of growling)
