iPhoto and RAW plugin UI issue

I have a Mac at home and a Mac in work, both with the Canon RAW plugin, and one one machine I see a little 'RAW' icon on each RAW image in all views, while on the other machine I only see this information in the 'information' pane. I'd really like to see it on each image. Otherwise, it's tedious to tell the difference between my RAW and JPG images.

Anyone any ideas how to turn this on ?

Are both machines using the exact same versions of the software ? I presume you're talking about iPhoto ??

Yes, iPhoto. Both machines on the latest OS and the latest iPhoto updates as well as the latest RAW plugin. Only difference is one machine is a PPC the other a Core Duo.

My problem is when I try to download and install the plugin again, I'm told I must have OS X 10.4.8. I have 10.4.9, and I though it would work with a later OS than it was designed for which doesnt appear to be the case.

    10.4.8 / 10.4.9
I don't think this should matter.

Just wondering ( should point out i am no expert) and maybe someone else could answer this,--- did you have OSX 10.4.8 when you bought the camera or did you buy the camera after it was OSX 10.4.9

I was reading this with great interest cause i am about to buy a digital camera in the next week.

Pretty sure the upgrade to 10.4.9 was done after the plugin was installed.

Not sure why this is happening but I wouldn't let it concern you - it's probably just an anomoly for me and it's only relevant if you are buying a camera that shoots in RAW. It's not that it doesn't work - it's just that it doesn't look identical in the iPhoto UI between two machines. Not a deal breaker.

    Any suggestions anyone ?
