Even though I used to play in a wedding band for a good number of years, I'm not up to speed nowadays on who's good or prices etc.

I got married nearly 2 years ago and had the Kaye Twins from Kildare. They were fantastic and several of my friends have had them since. They have no problem travelling anywhere nationwide. You'll get details at http://www.kayetwins.com

There are a few good bands in Galway as such as Face Value www.facevalue.ie

    Where are you getting married?

We had Wavelength at our wedding and they also did the disco. They were very good and kept the floor filled all night. They are from Crossmolina but I dont have any contact details.

Oh yea, they were very reasonably priced as well!

    Hi

I have now seen Legacy at three weddings and each time they have been sensational, their music is so varied waltzes, swings, ratpack, ceili, R&R and right up to the minute, and they are really cool at fitting the music to the crowd. Shows how good they are, they open the Westport Music Festival on the big stage to 8K people every year. They are really pro, full evening suits, everything setup before any guests arrive etc and the best sound and light system I have seen from a wedding band. Even better, they are far better value than some others around. I,ve seen so many others and it has to be Legacy if you can get them, they have a website www.legacyweddingband.com

What's the average fee for a wedding band these days, please?

And any recommendations for bands who would have no intention of playing "Is this the way to Amarillo?" very welcome!

    Hi,

Saw a a great wedding band recently at my cousins wedding called Harlequin. http://www.myspace.com/harlequinpartyband. They were playing at Ashford in Cong. Great night and the guys were very accomodating when requesting songs.

    Definately worth looking into. :)

My first cousin got married in Westport last year and a marvellous band played there, I bought a cd from them afterwards "Johnny Shots and the Hot Mallets" they were called, they come from Sligo. They did a few 50's numbers before thundering in with Bob Marley, Bob Dylan and a few others. They also song a few of their own songs, "What happened Tommy", "Did you a fecking favour", "You win some, you die" and lots more.

A great band at a good price

I know a guy called Benen Tierney who is a brilliant wedding DJ. He does full weddings instead of bands and plays all the traditional band tunes and puts on a great DJ show with inflatable instruments. He's only a fraction of the cost of a band too. His number is 087 1328214 and tell him MArtin O Regan recommended him:cool:

If ur lookin for a professional outfit who do smaller weddings or indeed medium plus size weddings I wud recomend : KC and Rock N' Reel
they do all styles of music for weddings

Female singer is class and should be in nashville

Saw them do a wedding in Claremorris at the new hotel -they also had their own dj and he used their equipment which was massive sound wise but still not too loud

    Found their website here: www.myspace.com/rocknreelireland
might be a phone num on it - not sure
