Aerial : non-digital/digital doesn't matter. The DTT trial is broadcast in the Dublin area from the Three Rock transmitter. (Is it Three Rock or Kippure normally for analogue TV in Leixlip?). An aerial designed for UHF reception will pick up the DTT trial. With a UK Freeview box you will only pick up the unscrambled channels of the trial: RTE1, RTE2, TV3, TG4. Radio stations: RTE Radio 1, RTE Radio 2, RnaG, Lyric FM, Today FM, RTE Radio 1 AM. You will not pick up the scrambled channels of the trial. These require an official DTT trial box with a viewing card to view these specific channels. Also be aware that there is no guarantee the clear channels will stay clear either.;)

Cas2007, can you let me know how you get on with that.
I have in-laws in Leixlip that'd love a decent signal.

There's no problem with the signal in Leixlip, even with just a set top aerial in a good position.

Yeah, but can we pick up the digital signal?

I thought it was obvious that we are all referring to digital, so yes - it's not a problem in Leixlip.

    Nice one.
I did realise that we were talking about digital, I just couldn't tell whether he knew he could get a digital signal or was checking if he could get a digital signal. :)

Anyone, nice one for the heads up.
Time to make use of their digital tuner.

    Actually, just another thing.
Does anyone know how far out the signal reaches?
Don't suppose it would be getting to Enfield in Meath?

I did read here a while back that somebody was receiving it in Kilcock with a laptop/USB dongle. I recall looking at a map (can't for the life of me remember where I saw the map) and observing that it should reach Enfield.

"lawhec" had a couple of reception maps for 3R. Its post number 29 in the "DTT Trials: reception reports" thread.

    Nice one for that.
Wish I'd paid the extra few quid for a digital tuner in my tv now! :o
