    Hey guys,

just installed a logitech "quickcam for skype" onto my laptop, running ME XP SP2, and as a result I've lost all sound on the machine.

I cant find any settings that were changed, anyone have any ideas how to fix it?

Is the speaker icon showing on the system tray (by the clock)? Is everything turned up? Make sure nothing is muted.

    Yeah, everything is on full.

It registers sound coming from the mic, but wont play any sound.
I've tried removing the drivers related to the cam, but it didnt help.

More then likely the installation of the Cam has overridden your sound card or onboard sound as the default. You need to go to "Control Panel" & open the "Sound Speech and Audio Devices" then open "Sound and Audio Devices" & go to the two Tabs at the top of the window labeled "AUDIO" & then "VOICE"
Make sure to choose your sound card from the dropdown list in each section & set it as default.

Open the sound settings in the options section of Skype & set it's default to the Cam.
    Restart the machine.

Everything is still set to the default.

The computer still thinks the audio works. When I test the audio and voice the levels flicker, just no sound.
