Im selling a monitor on adverts for 180 and dont want to be posted the money! It would be handiest for him to just put it straight into my bank account.. Is there anyway I can do this?

    Im with permanent TSB bank

Just give them your name (or your account name), account number and sort-code thats all the the info they need.

That info's on every cheque you write anyway and isn't considered confidential.

Nope, it won't be enough for anyone to withdraw money, would require a signature I would say and some sort of ID. It is safe.

No all banks have strict checks they carry out to verify your identity if you wander in off the street with just an account number, if your withdrawing cash of course.

Ulster Bank for example request photo id first and will proceed if you have that, if you don't they move onto a convuluted set of security questions normally stumping me on the "What was your last transaction?".

A lot of companies publish their bank details on their letterhead and invoices to facilitate quicker payment.

If your worried about handing out the information due to the 419 lads first request after they offer you 10% of a hojillion dollars being for bank details then don't be, they only ask for bank details to make their offer sound more convincing they don't actually do anything with them the scam comes further down the line.

Giving your account details to people is 100% secure, if it wasn't, or if people believed it wasn't then banks would lose a massive revenue generator and theres no way they'd let that happen.
