    Hi everybody,

Thanks in advance for your help.
ok over the past few year ive been extremely unhealthy ie smoker drinker overeater. At the beginning of this year i quit smoking, barely drink anymore joined a gym and have been steadily going 3 or 4 times a week with out fail. I eat less how ever i read in the sticky that u should eat 5 or 6 meals a day. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a simple 6 meal a day plan like easy to make and affordable for a poor student:)

    Thanks

Well i'm not expert(beleive me!) but you're supposed to eat 4-6 medium-sized nutrious meals instead of 3 main ones a day. This keeps you're metabolism in good order throughout the day, thus burning more calories. This combined with cardio and weights will help you lose weight quicker.

Just some random thoughts...planning is all important in keeping cost down. Eggs and nuts are great cheap sources of protein. Milk is also very cheap and useful for when you're out and about. Porridge is the best breakfast there is and luckily also very cheap. 6 wholemeal pitta breads are 60 cent in tesco. Fill these with some protein and salad and take for your lunch. not all 6 on one day obviously ;) buy fruit and veg in season as they are much cheaper. If you have access to a freezer buy meat in larger portions and freeze it.

    so sample day

    1. porridge
    2. hard boiled egg and fruit
    3. tin of tuna, salad & salsa pitta
    4. cous-cous salad
    (workout)
    5. stirfry (loads of veggies and a chicken breast)
    6. glass of milk & handful of nuts

If you work out earlier in the day try to eat more carb foods early and protein foods later.
