SD Expansion

Just wondering if there's any hardware limit on the size of the SD card you can put into a media player that accepts them. I have an oldish one that says it can be expanded to 1Gb with an SD card. Is there anything to stop me putting an 8GB card in there?

Shouldn't be. They should all use the same standard so if it fits in the slot (ie is the right memory type), it should work as it will be designed to work with a standard SD slot which hasn't really changed.
