Three more GJP ME hands

OK, these were 3 of the crucial hands in this event for me. One I butchered I think, one is marginal I think, and one is ok I think. Opinions please.

    Hand 1:

I have been moved to a new table, and this is around my third hand there. Apart from knowing who a couple of the players are I can't say I have ever played with any of them before. There are a number of shortstacks.

I have ~20k before this hand. It is 300/600. A couple of folds and I make it 2200 with AKo. One guy pushes all in after a 10 second think for ~12k.

    Call/fold?

    Hand 2:

Same table, 45 mins or so later. 400/800. I have ~35k. There have been very few showdowns. UTG+1 (Jen from Blonde) limps. The only time this happened before when I was there she reraised a raiser big.

I think for a few secs and make it 3k with JJ. Folded to small blind who raises to 9k. He is a Northern lad with 1 crutch (literally, in case that helps anyone identify him). Jen folds and it gets back to me. I call (ugh).

Flop is 553r. SB bets 9k, and he slightly covers me.

    I?

    Hand 3:

Start of the second day, 15 mins in. I have ~22k, 500/1000. Folded to SB (covers after reraising MrPT previous hand). Didn't seem happy to play shortstacked after his talk last night and at start of play. SB completes, and I look down at A8o and make it 4k. He thinks for a couple of secs and shoves.

    I?

    Hand 1. Easy call
Hand 2. Id try and make my mind up pre flop(depending on the player i may fold) After calling the raise you are somewhat committed. id call.
    Hand 3. Easy fold

    1. Call - I think you'll see AQ/AJ here as well as all pairs. I think it's an easy call.

    2. Very tough spot. I think I prefer to fold here. We're in a sitaution where we dont have a clue where we are in the hand and could end up with all our chips in the middle.

    3. I think this is close. Pretty read dependant. It's definitely not an instafold.

1 easy call - there's only 2 hands you dont want to see

2 call - if you thought you were ahead pf, there is no reason to thibk you're not ahead now - those northie guys can be very aggro - i think he has TT !!

    3 marginal - i'd probably find a fold here - personally i would have peeled off a cheap flop - i guess he's strong

    Hand 1: snapcall
Hand 2: I would fold pre
    Hand 3: fold.

    1 easy call

2 I fold or push pre depending on player. Against unknown I fold, but him being a nordie leans me towards a push! As played I call.

3 Easy fold but I would have checked behind with these stacks because alot of the time you're going to get an all in from the SB and you're going to have to fold. Also if you check behind and hit your ace they won't believe you and you'll get paid off with 2nd pair alot, also your ace high could easily be good if it's checked down etc etc.

    Hand 1. Call
Hand 2. I fold pf. Probably fold here, you really don't know where you are in this hand and it will likely cost you all your chips to find out.
    Hand 3. I fold

Hand 1: It's a donkament. AK is the nuts.

Hand 2: Fold preflop. I don't know what to do now.

Hand 3: I fold, but not all the time.

    1: I call
2: I probably fold to the original raise, as played I fold now.
3: I may call this, especially seeing as he has history of re-raising. I could very easily go either way though. It sounds like he's decided to gamble it up to try and amass a decent stack and I think we would have good equity versus his range, I'd guess +50% personally off the top of my head, nasty spot though.

    #1 Call
#2 Fold PF to the RR, Fold now.
#3 Foldski, I'd prefer not to gamble with A8o.

Hand 3 the villain was Dave Lynsky, that pretty much makes it a call everytime for me he will never complete with anything strong here but will equally have no fear of taking the pot away blind on blind.

    Eugene Hanratty
, he final tabled the last Green Poker Event, I only played with him a short time though... maybe other people played againest him more.

OK, for those that care even a little bit, here is how they panned out.

Hand 1: I figure that I am racing a lot, miles ahead sometimes, but miles behind only rarely, so I called fairly quickly. I was annoyed to see KK tabled, and after the hand when I learned that two people had folded an A preflop, I realised that I hit a 1 outer on the flop.

Hand 2: I donkeyed this hand up spectacularly. I foled anyhow after a think, after Ian Woodley called the clock on me (first time it has even been called on me - the cnut). I shall remember that petty detail if I ever play at his table again.

Hand 3: I called and didn't improve against the ATs the SB tabled. I think I was unlucky to see a hand that big for him, as he would have expected me to raise preflop no matter what I held most of the time I reckon.

In tournaments like this I expect to see AA KK alot with that kind of donk raise. I know it's more unlikely than QQ/JJ it's just I see it so often with huge overbets I can't ignore it.

If he had 30k and made the same bet then yes, but he did not have enough behind to make a proper reraise that didn't commit over half his stack, so allin was his only viable reraise option here I think.

True enough. You luckboxed him anyway.
