    Alright Guys (and Gals),

I was watchin my Bill Bailey Dvd and during part of the show, he used some sweet effects. After a chat with Beecher, found that he uses a Roland GR-20 synth and Roland GK3 Pickup.

Now i gotta get this setup. Has anyone in bordsie-land ever used these much. As per above link, im lookin at over 500quid for the set. Wadda think?

Ive wanted one of those for a fair while! Although Id prefer an old school version of the GR-20, the GR-1!

What are these like compared to the EH Microsynth or the Line6 Filter yokey? It's an area I'm interested in...

    totally different.

The Roland GR-20 works off MIDI, hence the MIDI pickup thats required. The other two pedals don't work off MIDI. The EHX uses oscillator(s) and filters and the Line 6 is basically a digital stomp box with various filter effects.

I've the rack mounted GR-50 sitting in my studio at home. I used to gig it in an all guitar band, and it was handy for synth strings in the likes of Bon Jovi, etc. You do end up adjusting your playing style a little to suit the synth though.

i can only find semi-bargins in the USA, so custom tax will ruin that idea.

As I said vengeance, keep an eye on adverts. You never know what might show up over the next 2 or 3 weeks.;)
Doing a big clearout here so may have to part with some gear.
