ibook Problem

Have an ibook G4 with a problem.

When I power it on, I hear the startup noise, see the grey screen with the clock type thingy then the blue screen with Mac OSX and apple logo appear. Thats as far as it will go, it stalls completely and won't progress past this screen. If anyone has any ideas on how to resolve this, I'd be really grateful as I think it could cost a few hundred to send it away to be fixed.

    Thanks,

    Trouble.

Have you got the OS X install discs? Try booting from it and do a hardware test, run disc utility, verify the hd, etc.

Thanks I'll try that. As soon as I can root out the install disc!
