Fantastic record, got to be one of my faves of the year. I think I might even like it more than Alligator  Theyve just announced a Dublin date too I think though I dont have the info.

That's a coincidence. I was just listening to a free cd from Uncut a few days ago and there was a song called Lit Up by The National.
I thought it was excellent and was wondering why I didn't know more about them. Will have to check them out.

I posted the following a while back: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055084246

It doesn't top Alligator for my money but then I'm struggling to see them ever producing anything better than that.

I was in London last week to see them at the Astoria. The last time I saw them was November 2005 in Whelans, which was without doubt one of the best gigs of my life.

There an an awful lot of potential The National fans' walking around, and they don't even know it.

Here is a promo website for Boxer: www.thenationalboxer.com , it has snippets of each song in production and then from the record. More curiosity value than anything else but I love the Guest Room one :)
