I applied this week, very very excited about this company.

I would be interested to hear about anything to do with them really, interviews, how long it takes to hear back from them after the online application process etc.

Sorry to hear about that OP, they could have at least rang you to let you know. Bizarre...

Also sorry for bringing back to life an old thread, but it's better than making an exact copy I suppose!

They don't, I was speaking to their HR manager and they currently only have 4 positions. Their staff promotion is high, hence why they are always looking for more. A lot move to their companies in USA, Germany and England.

They expect to promote you within a year, so maybe that explains it.

    Stay away......well away.

My poor g/f took a job with them a couple of years ago. Shes still scarred to this day.

    Appreciate the heads up...

'Staying away' would seem to be the general consensus...

These Graduate Management Trainees are basically the counter staff.

    Briefly,

    a typical day consisted of....

Getting torrents of abuse from customers.
Working 10-12 hours a day minimum.
    Washing the cars!

    Massive staff turnover.

I think the attraction is the 24k starting salary(which is usually above the average in country towns) they dangle in front of you. But working 10-12hrs per day without overtime seriously undermines the salary.

Most people on that forum seem to complain about what you've mentioned alright.

Sorry, but I didn't do a 4 year degree to wash cars!

If you did Arts, then yes, you did! :-)

Thats for sure. Although I do enjoy washing my own car!

In all seriousness, its just a front-line customer service job. I really cant fathom the justification of it being a Graduate role.

If it's a sexy car then why not ;)

    Again, thanks for the info...

What I don't understand is how they got voted by the irish independent as 'best company to work for' 2006 and 2007 etc? I mean, were they holding guns to employees heads while they filled out the questionnaires? Or should we consider these awards from the Indo null and void?!

BCTWF is a business who charge companies to be on their list, some of the companies on their list are decent enough but you must know that the list is there as a tool to attract potential employees.

All I should say is that at this moment (8.33), most of the staff of Enterprise Naas Rd branch are on their way back towards their office having HAD to collect cars from the Swords office after working from 8 to 6. If this sort of thing appeals to you, go for it.

That's quite interesting to know, so basically anyone with that award shouldn't be neccessarily trusted...

Oh no, I'm quite alright :)

so I applied for their graduate program and got through to the final round, on the 9th of August, they told me that they would contact me the next week. . . they never did instead on the 21st of August I got a letter in the post telling me that I was unsuccessful. I found this very unusual since all of the previous contact was over the phone and then followed up by email.
I found the way they dealt with their response very unprofessional

Hi, does anyone have any more up to date info about this company and their management trainee programme?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28 gill91

I applied for this management graduate program before Christmas. got an email for a phone interview. completed the interview that lasted about 15 mins and was told on the phone interview that I would get an email in mid January in regards to a face to face interview. it is nearly march now and I have still received no email for a face to face email.

I have written it off at this stage but they shouldn't inform people that they will get called to an interview and then never reply to them.

    Hi folks,

I can only imagine as the dollar gets stronger against the euro, ERAC will be advertising to hire new staff - A quick summary of my experience working with ERAC

The pay is crap, you'll never work longer hours in your life and you're constantly being promised opportunities by management.......... All in an effort to keep you with the company during peak times

The company model is based on getting as many cars on the road as possible, and avoiding cars sitting in the parking lots overnight or over a weekend as they depreciate without adding value to the company (hence the €15.99 deal at the weekend) - So ERAC attempt to rent cars the second they're returned - Which causes a heap of issues........ None more so than cars arriving late, damaged etc and being rented

The staff seems quite institutionalised and obsessed with 'bleeding green' - Some had the cop on to leave to a better more promising career

Very much a pyramid scheme structure - You do the donkey work, with upper management reaping the rewards, all the while stressing the importance of ethics and employee welfare................ Both are non existent - I'd avoid ERAC unless you really hate your life and have nothing better to do than rip off customers on a regular basis

I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with enterprise. This is the most unprofessional company I ever done business with.....and in a few words never again
