Tongue piercings...

    Hi!

Just wondering, is there clear plastic bars available for tongue piercings? I really, really want to get this done.

I don't want it to be really noticable for work as I work on a customer service desk. I don't know how work would react. I don't wanna spend the money on it, and then told can't have it because it's something I really want. Anyone else ever have an experience like this with work?

    Cheers :)

you can get clear bars, or just balls for it, but you should probably wait til it's healed before changing it to one of those bars.
That said, it won't really be overly noticeable with a plain bar anyways, unless your going around with your tongue sticking out.
I used work on a customer service desk with my tongue and plenty more done and I used get away with it, all I was asked to do was put a retainer in my vertical labret and take out my nose ring while I was on it and it was fine, never really cared about all the **** in my ears or anything... saying that, it wasn't the best run company.. but it's pretty easy to hide a tongue piercing tbh

Hey, thanks for that. Did you have the tongue piercing done on getting the job, or while working there? Outta curiosiy! My manager never said anything to one of the lads who had ear and eyebrow pierced. But we've a new manager so I don't know what his views are. Debating whether to ask HR manager or to just go for it...

I had it when I got the job and I had loads of others too, they never really minded, just didnt want anything sticking out of my face, which was fine. but to be honest, its not a huuuuugely noticeable piercing. chances are they wouldnt notice it if you just went and got it done.

Agreed. Sure look at your uniform regulations. Is there any rules against it? Cos I'm having issues at work with my arm presently. And it's not coming out any time soon.

Looked in the regulations, says jewellery should be miminal, nose rings, eye brow piercings should not be worn etc. I can't see there being a problem, it's in my mouth! Not like permanently on show!

Thanks for all the replies guys :D

i think, but im not entirely sure, but realiable places will pierce your tongue at 17, but you need ID and parents to go in with you...but once again, i could be wrong.

i depends where you are based. find a local reputable piercer and e-mail, or go in and ask. and if your told its 18, its not that long of a wait.
