DVD Recorder on Digital - what is required?

Got a call from a friend of my mother's telling her situation with a Philips DVD recorder. I don't know models etc.

But she had Chorus (analog i presume) in the house and was told it was one of the only models that'd work with it (found this hard to believe). Anyways, she hooked it up and had problems with it in that she could only record what she was watching. Typical story - she needed a second output.

But got Chorus Digital in yesterday with two seperate boxes and she reckons it's still doing the same thing - i presume with two set-boxes, they can display two different stations.

I arranged to go out on Friday evening and get the system up and running. As technically savvy as i am, i have no notion about DVD recorders and their compatibility with digital and set-top boxes.

Is there anything i need to know before i go out there? Any bits and pieces i should bring? Couple of extra scart / S-Video cables etc?

    Any help is much appreciated!

The Chorus digital STB's have two scart outputs the same channel is out-putted on each scart output.

So connect one scart output to the DVD recorder scart input & your sorted for capturing the video.

The output of the DVD recorder is probably scart so plug that into the TV, if the TV has only one scart input which you wish to retain for the other Chorus STB try composite or s-video video instead as the output for the DVD recorder.
