Problem with laptop

    Hi all,

    Just looking for a bit of advice and maybe some help.

    What's happened is i have a HP Pavilion dv1680 laptop, which when i turned on a week or so ago, automatically ran a system recovery, now all my pictures (4000+) music (2000+) cannot be accessed, they're still on the system as when i check the properties on my c drive there is a buck load of space used, I've tracked them down to C:\documents and settings\ file name, but everytime i try to open this is says access denied.

    does anybody know how i can get access to this file? as it has taken me years to get this collection of pics and music together.
