    Generally postmen seem to do a fairly good job I think, the overall service in terms of the time it takes to get a letter delivered etc on the other hand isnt the best

    our postman keeps dropping our post into the shop where my mother works, drives dad mental because she keeps forgetting to bring it home. he's told the postman loads of times to just bring it up to the house (he comes up here anyway later in the day), but every day mam's working she comes home with a handful of envelopes .. or none at all :)

    Postman Grrrr is Postman Pats lesser known evil twin.

    My postman is quote good at what he does, but he doesnt really seem to like it. Especially around election rubbish delivery time when every house gets about a kilo of flyers a week.

    Same here (the post, not the hangover). Still, was better than waiting until Monday for my deliveries :)

    My postman is lovely, if he saw me leaving the estate he'd flag me down to ask was the key in the door of the house (if there was a parcel - if it was he'd put the parcel inside the frontdoor) if not he'd give it to me there and then.
    He's always mocking me about being addicted to ebay...

    This is a country that if someone (from the US say) sends a letter to Mary Oriely, Leetrum, irland the chances are the postman will know the person and deliver it :D

    Oh and eh.. the address i used is supposed to be like that to show my point!

    Just because you have some idiot who cant deliver a letter does not mean the rest of them are also idiots. Im not sure what its like here but if you work for the USPS in the states you make loads of money :D and they never get out of their vans.. just drive, stop, stick letter in box and take mail thats going out to deliver it (yes you can stick mail in your own box in the US :D).

    Thats a fab idea. It wouldn't be really safe enough here thought to do that i suppose.

    Aye, that's one of the things that suprised me about America;
    for all their other flaws, there's some things, such as USPS that are seemingly an integral part of their culture, and people pay it a strange amount of respect
