If they are an Irish seller why is postage more to Ireland than it is to England? seems a bit strange.

overcharging postage = easy additional money maker

The person selling is a friend of an ebay employee so i would assume is trustworthy.

You could always see if you can collect, she lives in Kildare.
Will the price not shoot up in 3days?
How do u know she is a friend of an ebay employee? (plz dont embarrass me and says its written there :D )
That postage thing is wierd too.

Maybe my ebay is b0rked but it appears as those all feedback is as a buyer, not as a seller? The PS3 is also advertised as being a Hong Kong unit.

How do you know the person selling is a friend of an ebay employee?

    Just curious :)

Its still at bid, whats stopping it from going up to E650 by the end like WBA said?? So how is this a bargain when we don't even know what the final price will be?

piece of ****, not a bargain.
why? if that's Hong Kong version, then it won't play ANY DVD with European region. that's first thing. it won't also play Blue Ray Discs from Europe when they are regionalised (for now they are region-free but I bet it won't last for long)
as long as it is Hong Kong version - if anything happens to the console - you won't be able to repair it at European Sony Center. you'll have to send it to the China.
and the last but not least - there's no "buy it now" price, therefore it will cost more than the price you can see now.

Also look at the current winning bidder. "bidder2", registered less than a week, this is the only thing they bid on. Sounds like your friend of a friend made a spoof account to drive the price up!

    In fact, I've reported it.

Too many dodgy things going on here!!!
Sorry if it is a genuine offer (doubt it)
I for one am staying well clear..

Looks very dodgy indeed, bidder2 eh...

bidder2 is an ebay thing, you can hide the identity of the buyers if your selling an item

anyways its not a bargain, the price it is now is probably dearer than the price in a shop in Hong Kong.

Bidder 2 is not an ebay thing. It links to a registered account. If you want to hide the identity, it says "Identity Hidden"

well i sold something on ebay a week ago and it gave me that option....google it, its something ebay have started doing in the last 6 months or so.

Its not a bargain and its not con!

anyways the nicknames bidder 1 and bidder 2 would be gone a long time ago! and there hardly gonna be bidding on ps3's in ireland

    example from google

    http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=150121716825

a lot of stuff bought on ebay by Irish ppl is by ppl who have never used ebay before, check the dell outlet ebay shop, nearly everyone who wins is someone with 0 feedback and newly registered.

FYI and OT - If you read the bidding page it tells you that E-bay have changed the way they show bidders. The Bidder 1, bidder 2 is the new way. Spotted it on a different item and though it was suspicious also. As said there still 3 days left and only a few bids.

Have a look at the other items they sell. A lot of the items that the person is selling are for €300+ and the "garbage" being around the €35 mark, instead of selling stuff at €2 and selling the odd "bargin" at €100

Also, "Kildare" may mean "right next to the sorting office in Maynooth".

The uk delivery price is probably a mistake ,probably means 35 sterling.

PS3 bargain? This should be moved to the humour board for the title alone!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,267 ✭✭✭mcgovern

There's a reason why no one is bidding on it.
