News talk and lisps

Am I the only one who thinks there is a disproportionately high percentage of news readers and advert readers on News Talk who have a lisp??

That woman who reads the news, the guy who guests on the morning show sometimes, the woman who reads loads of adverts (Noyeks Newman comes to mind) there is another male advert reader with a savage lisp. Sometimes when I listen to News Talk in the car I'm tempted to turn the wipers on.

I think the issue's being made worse by the fact that newstalk may not have the greatest mics and the FM signal could be quite compressed.

The sound quality is often not the greatest.

yeah that's a fair comment, but it does sound good for some shows though

What annoys me is that one of the news readers ALWAYS sounds like she is saying GERMAN election rather than GENERAL election....... Annoying

Could be worse, they could sound like MOYCHILL MAC MULLLLINNNN doing the sports report after the news on Today FM. God I cringe when I hear his atrocity of a D4 'twang'...

I think the worst is one of the news readers on today fm in the morning, she sounds like she has a permanent head-cold, all bunged up etc. Makes me feel like i have a cold too...

Murph on the sports program has a lisp as well. Nothing to do with the microphone - the guy just can't talk properly and shouldn't be let near a mike.

hehe, but I like him though, he has a bit of character and he wants to be involved in sports, so he is on the radio because he knows about sports. good point though, I never even considered him. It's people who are on the raido with lisps who are simply there as a voice that i dont understand.

I find NT's audio is changeable ie good and bad ie overmodulated. I listen on satellite and on a recent visit listened on FM and found it was a bit raspy too.

    Are they in mono?

Always found 2FM overmodulated on satellite.
