Sunday nights episode "Meet the Quagmire's" was actually good... i could see it fitting into the third series dvd without noticing. im sure most of ye have seen some of the TRIPE that theyve brought out in season 5 (or season 6 which ever way you look at it) but if you want to see a good new episode i recommend you check it out

speaking of which, how the hell did seth macfarlane become so unfunny so quickly? season 4 was genius, even funnier than the 3 series' that made family guy famous but my god, the new series has episodes that didn't make me even crack a smile. jokes that go on for 2 minutes that are really sad, and stupid ones that actually make me want to turn off the show... One of the top of my head would be the "joke" about the 'prom night dumpster baby'... it angers me too much to even explain it but it just sums up new family guy to a tee...

but anyway ya... new episode...good.... bye

I've kinda gotten board of Family guy. I just don't find it that funny any more.

Yeah it's rarely funny these days and I can't believe the producers are letting them put those god awful 2 minutes 'gags' in. They're just painful to watch.

Yeah it's gone seriously downhill lately. Even the earlier ones though I can't watch any more.

They seem to have taken the good writers off of family guy and put them into American Dad. Family Guy is a stale show its at the stage now where you're more likely to see a sub-par show than one that'll make you laugh.

yeah, south park has got what it takes to remain funny. the newer episodes still made me laugh....when stan's dad is on wheel of fortune!

When we were watching here we also both felt that "Meet the Quagmires" was an example of the old show we liked. It had features such as a plot and didn't rely on jokes and cameo mentions of people most people here have never heard of.

The show has definitely declined in quality since its return and I'm with BlitzKrieg - every time I see one of their pointless asides, I think "manatee".

I fell out of love with Family Guy around the time of Cartoon Wars, but I don't think it was because of that.

It became a kind of parody of itself in some ways, and the near constant "hey remember the time when..." thing just got plain annoying - some episodes just seemed like a collection of disjointed and random flashbacks that weren't even funny in themselves.

South Park made a pretty good point of that in Cartoon Wars, but it's a device that did work before, they just became reliant on it.

Yeah, whenever i go back and watch the first few series its very noticeable there was much more actual storyline, and far fewer "remember the time when" and sometimes they were even somewhat relevent. Now every second scene is a manatee random one.

This season i actually cant believe they had Lois cheat on Peter with Clinton, really just left a bad taste in my mouth..

never gave american dad a chance till monkyfudge recommanded it.

I am now convinced all the talent from family guy are working on american dad.
