Filter System on a Full Frame

I was wondering if anyone has any experience on the best filter system to get for a full frame sensor with wide angle lens (17mm) that gives the least vignetting. I am looking at getting some grad nd filters so i guess i also need a holder. Does anyone have any direct experience of a cokin or other set that is suitable for these requirements?

Does anywhere in Dublin do these so I could try them out?

    Thanks,

    Freeand..

I bought a kind of starter set of Cokins in Conns about two weeks ago. I got 2 holders - 82mm and 77mm, and three filters - Circ Polarisor, ND and ND grad for about 160 quid. I found them to be very easy to use. I had imagined that you would want to use them only for landscape stuff on a tripod, but they were very easy to use. The polarisor was a bit tricker to rotate, but the whole holder can rotate, so no worries there.

    You'd want the P Series

yes indeed, the P system would suit 77 mm lenses

I bought the Lee set and used it for landscape shots last week and didnt suffer any issues with the lens at all.

they're about 15-20 quid for the square ones. The polarisor is maybe 70 quid though

I thought there was different holders for wide angle lenses ??
Cokin sell two holders ,one standard one ,with spaces for 4 filters.
Or a wideangle one that fits just one filter ,so you don't see the holder in the shot?

Almost certain about that ,there available at warehouse express and I think technick direckt sell cokin stuff aswell .
    google shows this : http://www.cokin.com/ico6-WIDE-ANGLE-HOLDER.html

youre dead right Brian. I was going to get the slim filter holder to use on my 10mm lens, but I decided against it. A bit of cropping or zooming the lens in slightly fixes the problem.

Pitching in a bit late to this one, but for reference, Hitech filters have a good reputation, are completely neutral (the most common complaint about Cokin), and are about half the price of Lee. The ND filters themselves aren't quite as long as Lee (125mm vs 150mm), but other than that appear to be good, they're next in line on my shopping list, and are available from Teamwork in the UK

    Thanks for that link John.

The Hitech look like great value. 3 ND Grads for £30 excl VAT is incredible value compared to other systems though the holder seems steep enough. I'll stick in an order as they were next on my list too.
