Im heading to Sicily for a week in September, flying into trapani (west coast) with Ryanair (cheap flights). First time there but have been to Italy twice and love it. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions about sights to see, good hotels etc. Thinking of going to Egadi islands (maybe Favignana) to chill out for last couple of days. Any suggestions from previous visitors to Sicily much appreciated.

    Thanks

I am from Mazara del Vallo, not far from where u'll be flying,i'll suggest to stay in San Vito lo Capo and renting a car.
Then from there u should visit: erice, trapani,Mozia,la riserva dello zingaro(thats my favourite in sicily).
If you are looking for relax dont go to favignana, 1 week is too short.
    anything let me know!

ps.try the cannoli o cassata siciliana and arancini (the first is a dessert with ricotta the second is riceball filled with meat or ham and mozzarella)tipical from this area.
