Angle grinder - what to use to remove paint & rust

I need to remove blistery paint & surface rust from some area of sill on my MX5 - I have an angle grinder, but am bewildered as to what discs or wheels I would need.

The grinder came with some serious stuff (cutting and grinding wheels for masonry and metal), and a wire-brush type thing... but I have a feeling I need something a bit more akin to "sandpaper on a disc".

    What do you reckon ?

Halfords have a plastic mesh disc for grinders or drills that is great for that job, without damaging the good metal.

We use the sanding flaps for the angle grinder all the time - get a fine enough grade and take it easy - far superior to wire cups / wire wheels. They look like this:

and should be available at any engineering suppliers.

Not sure of the name of them, but you can get 3M green sanding pads for angle grinders, for paint and rust removal.
