Typing this from the laptop beause my desktop is fúcked - dunno what the problem is. I reformatted and it seemed to solve the problem but its just reurred.

When I turn on the PC, it seems fine but on reaching the boot screen theres a clicking sound which I think is from the motherboard. From time to time there's a weak buzzer beep as well.

The PC asks me to choose a hardware profile to use. I can toggle between "Last known good confguration" and defaut with D and L but my only available selection is "Profile1"

Previously it had been automatically entering setup and toggling buttons as if a key was pressed, but I've tried with and without the keyboard and it seems to make no difference.

Then when I get it to boot through Hardware profile 1, the network has limited or no connectivity. I tried to setup the network again but the whole OS acts like a key is pressed and just tabs so that i cant type into a field or use the mouse to click buttons - and I get the continuous windows error beep sound. Again, unplugging the Keyboard makes no difference whatsoever.

ANY help would be massively appreciated. Cheers.

What was it, and how did you solve it, other people might have the same problem, or are just curious!!

Problem was that i mixed two wireless keyboard and mice sets together (one from each) - and the second keyboard which i thought was broken was in fact under my bed with half the keys jammed down by a jumper.

Now, stop laughing. As it happens the internet problems continued and after two hours of fiddling i decided that to reformat (2nd time in 2 days) would be quicker.

Have we all stopped giggling now? :D

Don't worry...I'm sure everyone here has had a seemingly major problem that had a really embarrassing reason behind it...but few share them openly here, so well done!
