spreadsheet query

    Not sure if this is the best forum for this - feel free to move it on if it's not.

    I'm looking to put info into a spreadsheet in OpenOffice - basically each box having a number in it, each line being a series of said numbers
    So line 1 would look like this:
    [23] [3] [45] [87] [5] etc.
    line 2 would look like:
    [34] [87] [4] [10] etc.

    And so on...

    And what I'm looking to find out once all the data has been inputted is how many times each individual number is repeated.

    I'm not used to spreadsheets so it might be easy to do - I just want to see how many times each number occours, but also make sure that the computer only counts the numbers independently, so that when I ask for the amount of 3s, it doesn't tell me how many times 3 turns up alone as well as within a larger number like 23, 34 etc.

    I know that's not explained very well, but if anyone understands and knows if there's a way to do it I'd be very appreciative.
