I'm just posting to see if there are any tae kwon do classes that are starting or are in progress in Dublin. I am looking to (re) take it up as a hobby to keep me someway fit.

I would prefer something southside, ideally around Dundrum or Sandyford.

    Hi,
I'd suggest you check out the following links:

    http://www.inta.ie/clubs.htm
    www.templeogue-tkd.com
    www.inta.ie/terenure/

Templeogue & Terenure would be the two nearest you though & are good classes. PM if you want more details...

East Coast Martial Arts have an ITF club in Westwood, Leopardstown, which should be handy enough for you.
I think there's also a TKD club in Raphaelas on the Kilmacud road.

If you're near Terenure, Val Douglas is the man to go to. See thread with INTA link.

What association do you want to join? there is a very very good class in Stillorgan www.tkdstillorgan.com that is taught by Mr Keane. Or AIB Taekwondo school, tempelogue.

    Thanks for the responses everyone.

Location wise, Stillorgan, Kilmacud and Leopardstown are pretty close to where I live so those would be good. Tempelogue and Terenure are a little out of the way but I can make it if these classes comes highly recommended.

I've taken a look at the Stillorgan class and it seems suitable. If anyone else has any other experiences with other classes however I will welcome your input.

Stillorgan is very, very good. The main instructor, Mr Keane, has won about every accolade possible and is a bit of a legend.

Bloody strong everything. That headstand is one of his many party pieces. He once kicked a can off my head, which was not in the least bit scary I swear. And his new party piece is this blindfolded. I've seen it done while he was training, but when he tried to do in infront of a crowd, he messed up.

But if you are coming down, the hall is not available the next two Saturdays, so there will only be Tuesday training.
