Ok as my old phone is now gone i need to get me a new one. After trawling e bay i found me a nice cheap second hand S.E. k800i. Only problem is that its a 3 phone coming from england.

All i want to know really is

    1. Can i just port my number onto a 3 sim card and stick it into the phone and have it work properly?

    2. Will it work properly even though its an english phone?

    3. How much would it cost me to get my number ported over to 3, and would i still get ze registration credit?

no you can't buy a sim card from 3, you have to buy a phone and even if you could that wouldn't matter because of the next question

no. 3 ireland and 3 uk are separate networks and a 3 ireland sim won't work in a locked 3 uk phone

the price of a new phone and yes but there's no point doing that as i said. you'd have to get the phone unlocked so you might as well stay on your current network

you can get it unlocked for €35. pm me for the name of the place you can get it done

i don't think that most unlocking shops can unlock the k800. it was network only up until a few months ago. i'm open to correction on that though because i only found out it could be unlocked a few days ago. if you can't find somewhere to unlock it let us know :)

yes the phone will work in ireland when its unlocked

since its 3, you might have problems getting the internet and multi media messaging working but i don't think you will
