    As the title suggests.
    I'm planning, (now, since thanks to this wonderful forum, I know my second favorite past time is legal) to buy a full rig to use over here.
    As I am deciding on what AEG to purchase, i am also considering what add ons to puchase. So my first qustion ( after yet again ramblings)

    Are underslung/side mounted multi-bb projectile devices, like the M203, worth owning?

    Secondly, side arms:
    P90/H&K MP5K or other sub.
    or
    actual airsoft pistol like 92SF or 1911 or SOCOM?

    Finially:
    Is it better to have all electric or mix, eletric/gas or spring, in peoples experiances?

    Cant say about the m203 because i dont have one and never used one, but they look pretty cool on a m16/m4, how useful they actually are in a game, i dont know

    Personally I currently use a p90 as my main aeg, since hrta is mainly a cqb site, then this is perfect for it, and it is good enough for outdoor at hrta too. I wouldnt fancy carrying it as a sidearm though, unless you have a really good sling in mind which would keep it pretty well out of your way, it's a relatively small gun, but still a bit big for a secondary.

    what primary are you thinking of using?

    an mp5k would be grand if you want an aeg as a secondary, but again, you'd want a decent sling

    Personally, I use a gas beretta (hfc m190) as a backup, great pistol, but both the 1911 (in black anyway :p) and the socom are pretty good pistols too, both of which I aim to own at some poinit.

    I also carry a cyma glock pistol as a secondary backup, but that rarely get's used, actually the beretta rarely get's used since i bought the p90.

    I have an mp5 as well, and used to find the pistol much better for going around corners in cqb, but p90 being bullpup makes this much easier, so pistols kinda get left aside

    I find that for pistols gas is much better, the downside to this is having to ensure you have gas available and the effect temperature has on power, the upside is that they are generally more powerful and much more realistic, the cyma glock is electric, and is completely underpowered and outranged in comparison to the beretta.

    For a full size aeg, electric is the most popular, but im sure you already know this...

    Spring I would only use for a bolt action rifle or a shotgun, since they are replicating the real action required, but for a pistol or anything else, you dont want to be racking the slide for every shot :p

    Looking at Famas or AUG for primary.

    If you are looking for a smg as a secondary may i suggest an mp7? aswell as being one of the coolest guns ever they realy are very very small and can be holstered which is alot more conveniant than having an smg slung over your back

    or a mac11, that one o1s1n has is incredible! the rof is great....

    if you want something with full auto as a secondary, you've got the m190,m93r,glock 18 (gbb or aep),mp7,mac11 and probably a few others aswell

    if you dont need full auto, then your choice is pretty much any small aeg or pistol out there....

    nope, it's a mini internal 7.2v battery, you could use an external battery if you wanted though

    Edit:
    internal:

    Orange: Most people get stung for Customs I beieve unless they tell the retailer to declare it as say 50% of the true value, thus being under the limit for paying or paying very little. The downside to this if something goes whong you anly get the declared value back.

    Balam: Famas is great for the cost (about $180 :D ) and is quite good (Ask oisin the moderator, its his main gun). Some say its a bit "plasticky but I like it (brother has one).
    For augs: Get either TM or CA not some stupid BE one. You'll pay a bit more for the CA (Which i have) but since it was the leading airsoft magazines first top gun scoring full marks its worth it. But wanna watch the weight as it is quite heavy and pretty long,though not as long as an M14 but still with the same barrel lenght :D

    About the MAc11..Not recomended for begginers by wolf and I presume it eats gas. I think Oisin said it takes a load of maintanance aswell.
    For Sidearm I'd go a gas and an electric if possible for winter when gas sucks.

    Just my 2 cents:)

    you only get charged on items from outside the EU, in my personal experience, i've only ever been charged once, and it seems like smaller items (physically and value-wise) tend to get through alot easier without customs charges

    if your ordering from hong kong or anything, probably best to factor in the extra for vat and duty etc.. that way if you get charged, then it's not so bad, but if you dont it's a nice surprise :D

    It really depends on what your reason for owning one is. They definitely have the cool factor and look the business. Even the gas shells look amazing. I'm sure seeing one would put the fear of god in your opposing team...as far as usefulness I'm not too sure. Great to have as a backup if you wanted to make a retreat..great novelty value..but beyond that I wouldn't know.

    Carrying a sub as well as a main AEG is more difficult than you'd think. I tried out a 3 point sling with my Mac 11 two weeks ago while carrying a Famas. The thing was more annoying than it was useful.

    If your main gun is going to be an AEG, I cant see any reason for carrying another AEG. The only difference between them is the look. They'll give you more or less the same firing experience. Maybe just more magazines instead :D

    A gas pistol on the other hand would be a very worthy backup. Totally different feel to shooting an AEG.

    It's just personal preference really. For me I'll always have an electric as my main and then a gas as a side arm. Seems to be the best way to go. Obviously, if you want to be a sniper, then you're going to have a spring as your main and maybe an electric/gas as a secondary. All goes down to what role you want to perform.

    Id love to get a M203 for my M16 just for to make it look more aggressive. Its wouldn't even have to fire. Not sure where you can find something like that for a decent price.Speaking of attachments, o1s1n is it yourself that has the shell holders on the side of his M3? Where did u get them? I was looking to do the same to my shotgun.

    Scope has a shell holder on the side of his shotgun, looks excellent..got it from Wolf I thinks ;)

    I own three CYMA 031's. Here's a quick rundown;

    Fires just below 1 joule so power is no problem.
    Hop-up does it's job well.
    Everything on the AEG is metal aside from the lower reciever, sight block and furniture.
    You can convert them into an AK74 with wooden furniture, an AKM or an RPK74 using ACM wooden kits. Element metal recievers are very low price allowing you to go full steel for much less then most AEG's. After Armalites there are more aftermarket parts for AK's then any other AEG type.

    If you're buying a Tokyo Marui Famas, get it from China. You'll save a fortune.

    Mine was 260 including postage for a;

    SV Famas
    Large battery
    Charger
    Mid cap mag
    High cap mag

    Got it through ehobbyasia.com. It's pretty straight forward as it works through ebay.

    Was delivered in 6 days.

    Yeah the ARMY 47 is about as good as CYMA's for build quality but has more power, fires around 1 joule.

    The whole terrorism relationship with the AK just makes them ooze mean and evil. There's just something inherently scary about them. I'm going to try and get one of those CYMA clones from Paul at some stage.

    Sh1te, going totally off topic here.

    I was then thinking of getting the JG SVD which I have read a few good reviews .Its basically an AK that I can as a temp sniper rifle.

    I just bought the JG SVD of a mate yesterday :) Quick review;

    Metal upper reciever, trigger and guard, folding bi-pod, outer barrel muzzle break and foresight. Plastic furniture, lower reciever and sight block. Inner barrel the same lenght as an AK47, only extends about half way up the outer barrel and has a plastic extension attatched :( Replacing with a 610mm 6.03 barrel as soon as possible. Hop-up is not very effective, it does the job but I had to set it to 2/3 just to get level firing. Replace with element hop-up.

    Overall this AEG will fail as a sniper rifle out of the box but with upgrades it can fullfill the task. My shopping list;

    ACM wooden furniture
    Element metal reciever kit
    Element AK hop-up
    Prometheus 610mm 6.03 tightbore barrel
    CYMA AK74 optical mount (requires drilling the lower reciever)

    This AEG isn't cheap to get up to snuff as a sniper, I recommend it only be bought as a project.
