Online IQ tests are not much use, you'll get a different result on practically every one you do. I've also done two "proper" IQ tests, (i.e. sitting in an exam room with a supervisor using pen and paper) and got two different scores on the two tests

A high score in IQ tests simply means that you are good at IQ tests. I could always get a higher score than my husband, even though I left education at 17 with nothing very much, and he had a Masters by the time he was 22. I had done IQ tests at school though, but he hadn't.

I don't know whether there's any value in iq tests, but there's a world of difference between intelligence and education.....

You can train a horse to give the correct answer to 2+3, but it doesn't mean it knows what it means

IQ tests aside from being racist, aside from being very unusual, aside from the fact you can go up and down 20 points due to how you are feeling, are pretty inaccurate. But they can give you a general guide.

There has been ongoing criticism of IQ testing, not least cultural bias.

IQ tests online are pretty crappy, full ones have to be done live, and even then it's just rough. Most online quizs have questions that aren't even applicable to IQ.

Could that test have been easier?
It might be a bit flawed as the max score is lower than my supposed iq...

Yeah, the only way to score about 140 is to be aged under 18, and the max score if you give your age as 8 is 160. Then again, specific tests have to be done for anything in that range.

No he's right. I haven't done the test so I don't know if it's the same... but all the IQ tests I've ever done online, and claimed I had a higher IQ than the IQ I know that I have, have all offered me a certificate stating so... for a small fee.

Those 'test your iq' things for Mensa always had at least one more possible answer than the one they gave, I always assumed they would wait for people to write in pointing this out and then say - wow you really do have a high IQ, you really should join Mensa!

Big Deal. My IQ is 124.(said in my best Stephen Hawkings voice) Don't believe in it much though. Some of the questions were based on quotes, how does that measure intelligence?

I do think they are pretty good at identifying which type of thing you are good at, for instance, I always get better results in logic than language. Although this test is somewhat limited, as I was restricted by my linguistic ability in not knowing what a hexagon was Beyond that though, it's gets questionable.

i've done those aptitude test things that test verbal reasoning/spatial awareness/mathematical ability/abstract reasoning etc and tbh they didn't tell me what areas I was better at- because I scored close to the 100th percentile in all areas.

note the way i'm (not so) cleverly implying i'm a genius also
